Half day - 1:30 PM • 2 adultsMitch was great from the start. Got right out on the water. I had been down here before and wanted a Sheepshead. Mitch obsessed until we caught one which we did. Caught several Drum and a perfect Red for fillet. A very close second though was everything we learned. Mitch is a very good teacher. Allows you to ask when you’re ready to learn and doesn’t force the process. Pro tip: Just ask. I probably learned more about how to cast and when to reel on this trip then any other.

Mitchel provided all of the fishing equipment, including bait, which made the whole experience so easy and enjoyable. Half day • 2 adultsI surprised my husband with this fishing trip, and Mitch made sure we had a great time! We were hounded by bad weather in the morning, but Mitch went above and beyond making sure we were comfy, and when we were able to safely go out on the water we met our limit on drum. He gave us clear instructions on catching the fish making it easy for us to learn, and made the entire experience so much fun; you can tell he has fun and was excited for our catches. His fishing knowledge and experience were top notch! Basically all the hard parts of fishing were erased, and we only had to show up and do the fun part. We had a great trip; highly recommend if you’re looking to book a trip.

Halfday fishing - 2 hour Swamp tour • 2 adultsI surprised my husband with a fishing trip through Bayou Paradise Fishing Charters for his 40th birthday, and it turned out to be the best surprise ever! From start to finish, the experience exceeded all of our expectations. Captain Mitch is absolutely amazing! He's incredibly knowledgeable, friendly, patient, and knows exactly where to find the fish. His passion for fishing and making sure everyone has a great time really shows. We had an incredible day on the water, catching plenty of drum, lots of redfish, and even a sheepshead! One of the highlights of the trip was landing a beautiful 10-pound redfish—it was such an exciting catch! And after waiting for my moment, I finally got to yell, "Fish on!" It was an unforgettable experience that I'll always remember. Whether you're an experienced angler or it's your first time fishing, Captain Mitch makes the trip fun, exciting, and successful. We couldn't have asked for a better way to celebrate my husband's milestone birthday. We highly recommend Bayou Paradise Fishing Charters and Captain Mitch to anyone looking for an unforgettable fishing adventure. We can't wait to come back and fish with him again!

4 hour evening trip • 2 adultsMy brother and I fished three days straight with Captain Mitch Haydel on Bayou Paradise. This review will serve for all three days. We can't say enough good about Mitch. He was so helpful, responsive to our questions and concerned that we caught enough fish that we had to calm him down and assure him that we were catching plenty of fish and having a great time. :) I (Bruce Dale) had so much fun that I hope to go back with my wife as soon as we can manage it. :) A couple of tips: First, swallow your dang pride and let Mitch do the casting for you. He can put that bait right where it needs to be 99 times out of a 100. And you will throw it in the wrong spot 99 times out of a 100. Second, talk to Mitch. He loves to talk. Happy Captain Mitch equals happy trip.

Another day of nothing but catching. Windy but the trout didnt mind. After number 45 hit the ice we went and played with the redfish, drum, and shessphead. Refish were all to small today but fun when its pretty much every cast.

This morning started off perfect. Light winds and schooling redfish. The Wind started to pick up so we decided to head to more protected area, and there was the trout waiting. The colder it gets, the better the fishing will be.

Redfishing is as hot as it gets right now. Had a morning and evening trip and it was limits for all clients. In the morning we sas able to set the anchor and catch them in one spot. The evening was just as easy but had to keep trolling. Made it fun tho since clients wanted to throw gold spoons.

Client wanted trout. Told them we wouldnt chase redfish first but would chase trout after. Reds werent ready to play yet so left to chase trout. Trout action was fast and furious. Even picked up a bonus bull shark while catching trout every cast. The bite was still steady but was slowing down so went to see if the reds wanted to play yet. Got to the spot we left earlier and boys was they ready. Picked up 5 reds quick and missed more then they caught.

Step son asked me to take him fishing in the morning so we went. He wanted to throw nothing but gold spoons. Tide was moving in pretty good and the wind was slack. Had our limit, fish cleaned, and boat cleaned in less then three hours.

Windy trout

Another windy catch and realse day. Getting to the spot was rough but the trout were waiting on us. Big trout every cast. After a few hours of fun catching trout, clients were ready to switch to redfish since they never had caught one. So we left the trout bitting. Managed to boat 4 reds and 1 bonus flounder in a short period of time, but missed the big one. At Least he had the chance to feel the power in these south Louisiana reds.
