In addition to running countless offshore fishing charters, Al has also been involved in historic oceanographic and archaeological research work. One such project involved The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) and their high-tech mapping and archaeological surveying of the civil war shipwreck the USS Hatteras which was sunk in battle off the Galveston cost in 1863.
