Star Fleet Sport Fishing is the third generation of a family-owned sport fishing charter business, founded in Mazatlan, Mexico in 1953 by Bill Heimpel Sr. These anglers have learned to love fishing and respect the fish and the ocean. They encourage catch-and-release and have tried and pursued their customers since the late 1960s. In fact, in 1969, 'Sports Illustrated' wrote an article on Mr. Heimpel, labeling him as the 'Marlin Lover of Mazatlan'. The crew's favorite species to catch are Wahoo, Tuna, and Dorado!
