I grew up on the water back in Florida, where I took a love to fishing at a very young age. In 2000 I began fishing professionally, where I continued on and off until moving full time to Costa Rica in 2017. My plan was to move here and do what I love full time and fish among some of the best fisherman in the world. I couldn't think of a better place to follow my dream. Costa Rica is exceptional in all aspects of fishing, be it inshore or offshore. I feel very fortunate to have ended up where I have and there's nothing more that I enjoy than sharing that same experience with other people.

    Fishing with Jeff

    Full Day Trip2 adults

Unforgettable day!!! Jaff and José were truly amazing. They led us to the fish, and with great skill and a little luck, we had plenty of strikes. By the end of the day, we had caught three sailfish and two tuna. One sailfish broke free, and another violent strike resulted in a broken line. The boat is beautiful, with top-notch equipment (six rods in the water), a delicious lunch, and plenty of cold drinks always available. At the end of the day, we returned to port with wonderful memories. Highly recommended!!! Thanks guys.

Best fishing charter we have ever booked!

    Full Day Trip2 adults

The captain and mate were exceptional! Within 5 minutes of dropping the line, my 70 year-old husband reeled in a nice Mahi Mahi, and it just got better and better. He caught 4 more, then 2 large, spectacular sail fish. The captain was on the best fish the entire time, and the mate didn't get a minute of peace between baiting the rods, assisting my husband reel in the catches, and using his skillful fillet techniques to clean the Mahi Mahi for us to take home. The boat was beautiful and the mate kept it so clean you could have eaten off the deck at any point. The equipment was top-notch, from the teaser riggings to the rods. The snacks just kept coming, the lunch was great, and the cooler was full of everything you could possibly want to quench your thirst. We have done many charters over the years, but I have never seen my husband as happy as he was with this charter. We truly got what we paid for and then some!

    Such a good day

    Full Day Trip4 adults

Jeff & Flaco are amazing people. this is our 2nd year fishing with them. They feel like old friends. we laughed joked and everyone had a great time. Even if we didn’t catch fish we would still of had a great day. like they say “fishing is fishing not catching “. Luckily we caught a lot of fish. 13 sailfish the first year, then came back with a mission and landed 18 and lost 4. it can’t get any better than these guys. We were thinking about another country next year, but we’ll come back here just to fish with our new friends🤠

    fantastic experience

    Full Day Trip2 adults

Bucket List delivered! Fishing wasnt easy with the ocean really warm, but we still managed a mahi, a sailfish and bunch of grouper and snapper. most importantly, Captain Jeff and Jose showed us a great day on the water. The boat is spotless clean and comfortable. The captain and mate focus on taking care of clients and these guys put in the work, all day. We’ve done charters in a lot of places. Few compare to the overall experience of fishing with Bucket List. We’ll be back!

Wow, what a day of great memories we made!

    Full Day Trip3 adults

Met up with Captain Jeff at the marina to start our day bright and early. His boat is nice, clean, and organized. His honesty up front that it has been tough fishing the week or so was appreciated. We told him we were here to turn his luck around! He was willing to do whatever it took to get us on fish, even if that ment going 40 miles out, which he did. First mate Jose was hustling too, dropping lines, switching lures, swapping fresh bait. His abilty to coach you reeling in fish was top notch. The lunch offered to us was homemade deliciousness! And of course we broke Captain Jeff’s dry spell, we had multiple hook ups and ended up landing four sailfish!

The perfect mixed bag of action

Dec 1, 2023 • Quepos
Another solid day finishing 9/7/6 on sails, 1/1 on marlin, and endless mahi and tuna. We were really hoping for our first slam of the season yesterday after having our sail and blue by 10:30, but just couldn’t find that stripy. It’s coming though. #quepossportfishing #marinapezvela #fishingcostarica #manuelantonio #travelcostarica #squidnation #quepostackleshop #bigluresmatter #PENNfishing #Garmin

Marlin showing up

Nov 28, 2023 • Quepos
Good fishing in the a.m. today, but petered out in the afternoon. Finished with a handful of mahi, keeping a couple for dinner. 4 for 5 on sails and a small striped Marlin. Not a bad day for a group from Utah that have never been offshore. #fishingcostarica #manuelantonio #travelcostarica #squidnation #quepostackleshop #bigluresmatter #PENNfishing #Garmin

Hot bite

Nov 26, 2023 • Quepos
The bite is starting to pick up and it was clinic time yesterday. It’s hard to beat customers wanting to learn, so it was a hook your own fish day and even got a little help at the leader. Finished the day raising 12, 11 bites, and releasing 6. We managed to stay away from the mahi most of the day, but still ended up with six or seven in the 20-25# range. Should be ready to roll come Sailfish Slam time. #quepossportfishing #marinapezvela #fishingcostarica #manuelantonio #travelcostarica #squidnation #quepostackleshop #bigluresmatter #PENNfishing #Garmin

All the mahi

Nov 8, 2023 • Quepos
It’s tough to say just yet on how the season is starting out. We certainly haven’t been setting the world on fire in terms of size, but you could fill the boat with these guys each and every day. If action is what your after, it’s in abundance right now. I expect the bigger fish and marlin to start showing up any minute since the food source is definabtly here. We’ve seen several sails over the past few day, but it has been tough to get solid bites from them. No marlin yet, but it’s defiantly coming and we’re ready. #quepossportfishing #marinapezvela #fishingcostarica #manuelantonio #travelcostarica #squidnation #quepostackleshop #bigluresmatter #PENNfishing #Garmin

Behind on Reports

Feb 23, 2023 • Quepos
I’m way behind on reports, but I’ll bomb on here. Fishing has been hit or miss, but of course my expectations always far exceed my customers. Sailfish have been pretty steady, Tuna have been abundant. Mahi are thinning out, but typically have a couple a day. Marlin are pretty good for this time of year and at minimum we are rainy one most trips. Not the most detailed report, but wanted to get something up. The weather is absolutely spot on perfect everyday and good times are always had.
