We were nervous coming to Costa Rica during rainy season. We looking up the weather daily coming and saw overcast and raining the majority of the time. We booked the fishing trip (we fish everywhere we go) knowing that the captain would know best if we could go out or not. Thank god we did!

The morning of was a great clear morning. The boat was beautiful and clean. It had all the top of the line gear ready to catch anything. We hurried on and got out there asap. Our crew found a massive pod of dolphins that we followed for hours. Catching 3 massive yellow fin tuna. We could have continued to pull them if we wanted but we have never caught a sail fish.

As our co was filleting our tuna, we caught a big bite on the reel! It was a sail fish! We reeled it in and got an amazing look at it before releasing it back into the ocean. What an experience. Our captain was watching the weather the whole time while we were out and said that the storm was rolling in.

Thank goodness he made this decision. We made it in with very choppy waters. Will admit that I thought we were going to flip on the way in at least twice. It was worth it though. Our captain got us all in safe with our fish!

We ended up taking 2 of our tuna home and gave one to the crew. Our trip was ended a little early cuz of the storm and he was generous to give us that credit back. We will for sure we booking with him again. The experience was amazing and the trip was unbearable. Highly recommend this charter.

This is my 7th time fishing in CR with fishing charters. Jeff and Jose’ were by far the best in my experience. They were both very friendly though out the trip. Jeff knew exactly where to start fishing and Jose’ his mate was ready to go at all times and highly skilled with his spread presentation of mixed rigged baits, artificial lures, custom teasers and a dredge.
The bite was on early and we all fought and caught fish.  The Sailfish were beautiful, the Mahi were chasing baits and the bonito were a blast to catch.
Jeff’s 31’ boat was super clean, very comfortable for all 4 of us, and fast and dry under way.  We all had an incredible time and plan on fishing again with them next year.

Captain Jeff and first mate Jose are one of the very best tandem captain first mate teams i have ever experienced.  Jose does not stop period!  He tends everything, seemingly never misses a strike, and so considerate.  Captain Jeff is a master at maneuvering the boat for leverage. We went 9 for 14 on the Sailfish including gone that measured 106”.  So impressed with this duo.  Boat is immaculately clean and Jose keeps it that way all day.  They are prepared, i felt like i am being served at a 5 star restaurant.  The blue tooth “play your play list” was an added touch.  Kudos i give them a Michelin star!!!

Captain Jeff and Mate Jose were accommodating with our 3/4 day fishing plan, worked hard for us, and were a fun tandem to fish with. We got onto some tuna at the second fishing area we tried. Landed a double then a single by 9:30am. Then with meat in it the box we took a chance on catching some bucket list fish. We had excellent day and landed 7 sailfish, one being double. The mahi mahi evaded us this time and that’s how it goes. Plenty of dolphins to see and we sighted a couple of whale to ice the cake. Highly recommend The Bucket List!!

Not knowing what to expect with the recent weather rolling thru, had an enjoyable day on the water on the Bucket List with Captain Jeff and Jose.  Weather and conditions cooperated, and this family of four landed double digit yellowfins with a couple approaching 35 lbs.  While we did not encounter billfish, the Captain put us on the tuna. Jose never stopped, taking care of the tackle and the family. Great experience, friendly crew. Look forward to doing it again. Highly recommend Bucket List.
