We had early bad weather for a morning bay fishing trip and Captain Rene waited almost 4 hours to take us out on the water. There were 4 of us and three were women who needed a lot of help and the captain was very patient with instruction and kept the ladies engaged when not catching fish. He did find fish however which made their day and also threw in a little historical knowledge of the areas we fished. He was a great captain and a great tour guide. His boat was in great shape and very comfortable. Would recommend him to anyone.

Captain Rene Garcia is the best guide we have ever had. He not only made fish catching happen but was honest about what to expect and explained the jetties to us so it made sense what we were doing. We caught some drum keepers and some bait fish which turned into a thrilling 150 lb stingray and a huge shark. By sons and I had the best fishing trip ever. Captain Rene is so accommodating and kind. He made sure we all had a pole in hand and baited. We caught so many fish. We will be chartering with him again for sure. Thank you Captain Garcia!

Captain Rene with Bravo Zulu Fishing Charters gave us a top-notch experience from start to finish. From the moment we hit the water, it was clear he knows the area, the fish, and how to keep the trip fun, productive, and smooth.

He put us right on the fish—black drum, trout, and even a small shark that made my son’s entire weekend. Rene gave helpful pointers when needed but never hovered, making it easy to enjoy the moment. His laid-back yet dialed-in approach made the whole charter feel effortless.

The boat was clean and well-maintained, and the gear was solid. Rene handled everything so we could focus on reeling in fish and making memories.

Whether you’re an experienced angler or bringing your kid out for their first charter, this is the guy to book. I’ve done a handful of trips like this, and this one definitely stands out. Highly recommend Bravo Zulu for anyone looking to actually catch fish and have a damn good time doing it.

So it was a very calm day in the water.  We did catch a few game fish to keep and a bunch of others to use for bait (for larger fish).  We hooked one that put up one heck of a strong fight and ultimately broke the line. 

A while later we boated a nice spinner shark.

I wish we would have had more to take home for our trip, but the fish just were not cooperating on that morning.  That being said, Cpt. Rene tried very hard to put us on fish.  Including towards the end of our trip (last stop) I offered a suggestion and he took it to heart and we tried doing something different, but still no joy…

Wasn’t Cpt. Rene’s fault… it’s just how fishing goes sometimes…. even the top of the line best an do everything right, and it’s not as good as it should have been.

Would it fish with Cpt. Rene and Zulu Bravo charters again…. You can put money on it.  Would I recommend Zulu Bravo to anyone? , A B S O L U T E L Y.

Family of four, with two kids under 10, went fishing with Captain Rene.  He was great with kids, easygoing, very personable, gave great information on Galveston Bay to make it even more interesting.  Most importantly, put us on the fish!  Bull red and 2 black drum keepers, but lots of smaller fish to keep the kids interested too!  Will be using Captain Rene again!
