If you plan on fishing in Galveston, look no further than Bravo Zulu Fishing Charters. Captain Rene will be your guide, bringing aboard their knowledge and experience.
Redfish, Black Drum, Speckled Trout, Sheepshead, Blacktip Shark, Bonnethead Shark, Bull Shark, and more could be biting if you come at the right time of year.
During the trip you might be light tackle fishing, bottom fishing, or maybe something more specialized in this area.
Capt. Rene believes in teaching kids to fish while they're young, so get 'em offline and onto the water! If you don't have a child-sized life vest of your own, be sure to ask if there's one on board. Don't forget to bring snacks for a boost of energy when needed!
You'll be dropping lines from a 24' Center console with space for 6 passengers. It comes with all the essentials.
Capt. Rene will supply rods and reels for you. Live bait is included, but you should ask the captain whether you'll be catching it yourself.
You might need to get a local fishing license before the trip. This information is usually available online, or you can ask the captain. Some species may be off limits or require a special tag, so make sure you know what to expect.
It's never a bad idea to bring sunblock (non-spray), bottled water, and sunglasses. If you'd like to bring other drinks, just ask. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, just avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles.
Your trip with Bravo Zulu Fishing Charters is just a click away, so why not make it happen?

I had booked this trip for my daughter and myself, she just wanted to go fishing with me (awww) before heading back to college, but she unfortunately had to last minute cancel so I invited my brother. We're both pushing 60 years old, have fished the Galveston area our entire lives, had zero expectations as conditions weren't ideal, but just grateful for the time window to enjoy the morning together and make some casts. We had not fished the jetties together since the early 80's so it was certainly a 4-hour nostalgia trip for us with memories of fishing with our Dad as kids. Rene pivoted to several spots on the jetties but it wasn't happening with desired species ... not his fault ... so we discussed Plan B options ... one of which was a spot we regularly fished with our Dad in the late 70's / early 80's. We posted up at the Plan B spot, scratched out some nice sand trout and a keeper speck, and had a great time with Rene shooting the breeze and reminiscing. If you book Rene, looking for the full experience boat ride to the jetties and all that, which can be insane when it's game on, by all means start the day that way. If it's not happening, trust me it's not his fault, tell him "Let's try plans B, C, and D." He knows where to go. My brother and I are definitely going to book him again with that exact float plan, meaning hit the jetties and be ready to pivot if it's not happening. Enjoyed the hang, Rene, thank you for your service to our country, and we'll see you soon.
Captain Rene went WELL out of his way to make sure my son had the best fishing experience for his birthday. I cant even say enough about his kindness. Super patient with us less experienced fishermen. Had us on some great catches in no time at all. made sure we stayed baited up and lines in the water. Very knowledgeable and experienced with the area. Kept us completely in the loop on what our objectives were to get those reels singing! His communication was above average in staying in touch and custom tailoring the trip to our specific skill set and expectations. I will warn you though…. thanks to Captain Rene… My son and I are officially addicted to saltwater fishing now! Looking forward to getting back on his boat ASAP😂

Had a great time getting your son out there for his birthday. Always aim to keep things patient and keep the lines in the water so everyone stays in the action. We put some solid catches in the boat and it sounds like the trip got you both hooked on saltwater fishing. Looking forward to having you back on the boat soon. Thank you for choosing Bravo Zulu Fishing Charters. God Bless.
Father’s Day Fishing Trip to Remember This Father’s Day fishing trip with my boys was an experience we will never forget. From start to finish, everything about the trip was outstanding. We caught redfish, black drum, trout, and several sharks, making for an action-packed day on the water. Captain Rene was exceptional. He didn’t just take us fishing—he made the experience personal. He took the time to work with us, answer our questions, and ensure everyone had a great time. His boat was extremely clean, well-maintained, and fully stocked with everything needed for a successful trip. What stood out most was the effort Captain Rene put into making the day special for my family. His professionalism, knowledge, and genuine personality turned a great fishing trip into a memorable Father’s Day experience. We will absolutely be booking another trip with Captain Rene. He didn’t just gain another customer—he made a friend. Highly recommended. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Appreciate the review on that Father’s Day trip with your boys. Had a good time getting everyone on redfish, black drum, trout and sharks. Glad I could keep it personal and make it a solid memory. Boat stays clean and ready. Looking forward to getting you back out there. Thank you for choosing Bravo Zulu Fishing Charters. God Bless.
Captain Renee was fantastic. Our two boys had an absolute blast and made memories we’ll be talking about for years. She was incredibly patient with them, took time to work on their fishing skills, and made sure they stayed engaged and having fun the entire trip. We caught fish, learned a lot, and enjoyed a great morning on the water. What stood out most was how well he balanced helping the kids while still making it a fun and successful fishing trip for everyone. If you’re looking for a family-friendly charter with a knowledgeable and personable captain, I highly recommend booking with Capt. Renee. Thanks for a great experience and some wonderful family memories!

Appreciate the review on the family trip. The boys were fun to work with and we got some fish in the boat while I showed them a few things. Glad everyone stayed engaged and had a good time. Thanks for the kind words. Thank you for choosing Bravo Zulu Fishing Charters. God Bless.

This was my first time fishing in ages and my wife and kids first time ever. Rene was absolutely amazing with us. He took the time to get us comfortable and used to the equipment and had the kids looking like pros in no time at all. My 11-year-old son and 14-year-old daughter had a blast. I was worried they might be bored or not into it but they loved everything from the boat ride to the jetty to learning about sea life and other things in the area. And of course they loved catching fish. We were blessed with wonderful weather and were able to take home some great game fish for dinner. I highly recommend Captain Rene, he made us feel like we were the number one priority at all times and gave us a memorable experience we will talk about forever.

Had a good time getting your wife and kids out for their first trip. Turned them into little pros quick on the boat and at the jetty while we pointed out some sea life and got a few nice game fish in the cooler for dinner. Thanks for bringing the family. Thank you for choosing Bravo Zulu Fishing Charters. God Bless.

I was born and raised in Houston, but Galveston has always been my second home. Growing up, I spent endless weekends and summers fishing off the surf and piers all around the island. Saltwater fishing and being on or near the sea have always been a passion and a sanctuary for me. After spending some time in the military, including two tours in Afghanistan, I was drawn back to Galveston for some much-needed rest and relaxation. But after some deep soul searching, my heart was moved to share my passion and sanctuary with others. I earned my captain's license in 2017 and started my veteran-owned business the following year. My motto is 'Inspire Share Respect.' I believe in inspiring others, sharing experiences, and showing respect for all life. Find your passion and pursue it relentlessly. I invite you to join me on an adventure and experience the thrill of saltwater fishing in Galveston. Let's make memories together and discover the beauty of the sea.
