During the trip you might be light tackle fishing, bottom fishing, or maybe something more specialized in this area.

Capt. Rene believes in teaching kids to fish while they're young, so get 'em offline and onto the water! If you don't have a child-sized life vest of your own, be sure to ask if there's one on board. Don't forget to bring snacks for a boost of energy when needed!

You'll be dropping lines from a 24' Center console with space for 6 passengers. It comes with all the essentials.

Capt. Rene will supply rods and reels for you. Live bait is included, but you should ask the captain whether you'll be catching it yourself.

You might need to get a local fishing license before the trip. This information is usually available online, or you can ask the captain. Some species may be off limits or require a special tag, so make sure you know what to expect.

It's never a bad idea to bring sunblock (non-spray), bottled water, and sunglasses. If you'd like to bring other drinks, just ask. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, just avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles.

Great Trip for the Whole Family

Captain Renee was fantastic. Our two boys had an absolute blast and made memories we’ll be talking about for years. She was incredibly patient with them, took time to work on their fishing skills, and made sure they stayed engaged and having fun the entire trip.

We caught fish, learned a lot, and enjoyed a great morning on the water. What stood out most was how well he balanced helping the kids while still making it a fun and successful fishing trip for everyone. If you’re looking for a family-friendly charter with a knowledgeable and personable captain, I highly recommend booking with Capt. Renee.

Amazing Experience

4 Hour Trip — Galveston Bay Jetty on June 2, 2026 • 2 adults • 2 children

This was my first time fishing in ages and my wife and kids first time ever.  Rene was absolutely amazing with us.  He took the time to get us comfortable and used to the equipment and had the kids looking like pros in no time at all.

My 11-year-old son and 14-year-old daughter had a blast.  I was worried they might be bored or not into it but they loved everything from the boat ride to the jetty to learning about sea life and other things in the area.  And of course they loved catching fish.  

We were blessed with wonderful weather and were able to take home some great game fish for dinner.  I highly recommend Captain Rene, he made us feel like we were the number one priority at all times and gave us a memorable experience we will talk about forever.

Half Day Trip With Captain Rene

4 Hour Trip — Galveston Bay Jetty - 1:00 PM on May 30, 2026

Very professional down to Earth Captain, great communication through booking process. Good price.. Took us to multiple spots to catch a variety of fish. Very good at teaching those with little experience and not invasive to those who do know how. Truly Knowledgeable and great at explaining not only fishing but anything inregards to the ocean and it’s animal life. This Was my second trip with him and already looking forward to my 3rd. If you want to have fun and catch fish, Captain Rene is your guy.

We went out with Guide Rene Garcia, we loved every minute. We knew nothing about saltwater fishing, Rene was a wealth of knowledge for us. He is very patient and kind. And ladies if you've been unsure if you wanted to participate while your partner is fishing, Rene is your guy. He's a tremendous help, he kept my line bated at all times, he would cast out my line  for me. All I had to do was reel in my catch, so much fun. He taught us alot and took the time to answer any of our questions. 
Definitely giving him a call the next time we come to Galveston. Thank you Rene for a heck of a good time!!!

Great 1/2 day Galveston Jetty trip

4 Hour Trip — Galveston Bay Jetty on March 19, 2026 • 2 adults

Captain Rene was awesome! He was kind, professional, patient, and most of all - he really knows what he is doing out there. My daughter and I did a morning 4hr fishing trip with him to the Galveston Jetties. His boat was comfortable and full of first class equipment. He os an expert on the seasonal fish patterns and did a great job teaching both my daughter and I the technique required to catch the spawning Sheepshead off the rocks, and we had a blast. We caught 10 fish, including 6 Sheepshead and 2 Black Drum. Kept and cooked the Sheepshead for dinner with the rest of our family and it was delicious. Very underrated gamefish! Tastes better than Redfish IMHO. We come to Galveston at least once a year, and we will definitely be calling Captain Rene for our next fishing trip in Galveston.
