If you plan on fishing in Galveston, look no further than Bravo Zulu Fishing Charters. Captain Rene will be your guide, bringing aboard their knowledge and experience.
Redfish, Black Drum, Speckled Trout, Sheepshead, Blacktip Shark, Bonnethead Shark, Bull Shark, and more could be biting if you come at the right time of year.
During the trip you might be light tackle fishing, bottom fishing, or maybe something more specialized in this area.
Capt. Rene believes in teaching kids to fish while they're young, so get 'em offline and onto the water! If you don't have a child-sized life vest of your own, be sure to ask if there's one on board. Don't forget to bring snacks for a boost of energy when needed!
You'll be dropping lines from a 24' Center console with space for 6 passengers. It comes with all the essentials.
Capt. Rene will supply rods and reels for you. Live bait is included, but you should ask the captain whether you'll be catching it yourself.
You might need to get a local fishing license before the trip. This information is usually available online, or you can ask the captain. Some species may be off limits or require a special tag, so make sure you know what to expect.
It's never a bad idea to bring sunblock (non-spray), bottled water, and sunglasses. If you'd like to bring other drinks, just ask. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, just avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles.

Great 1/2 day Galveston Jetty trip

Captain Rene was awesome! He was kind, professional, patient, and most of all - he really knows what he is doing out there. My daughter and I did a morning 4hr fishing trip with him to the Galveston Jetties. His boat was comfortable and full of first class equipment. He os an expert on the seasonal fish patterns and did a great job teaching both my daughter and I the technique required to catch the spawning Sheepshead off the rocks, and we had a blast. We caught 10 fish, including 6 Sheepshead and 2 Black Drum. Kept and cooked the Sheepshead for dinner with the rest of our family and it was delicious. Very underrated gamefish! Tastes better than Redfish IMHO. We come to Galveston at least once a year, and we will definitely be calling Captain Rene for our next fishing trip in Galveston.

Captain Rene delivered one of the best charter experiences I’ve ever had. From the moment we stepped on the boat, he was dialed in, professional, and clearly passionate about putting us on fish. We caught multiple species, including some solid red drum and black drum, and he never stopped working to keep the action steady.
He’s patient, knowledgeable, and makes the whole trip fun. The boat and gear were in great shape, and he handled everything so we could just relax and fish. Whether you’re new to saltwater or have been fishing your whole life, you’re in good hands with Bravo Zulu Fishing Charters.

4 Hour Trip - Galveston Bay Jetty - 3:00 PM on November 24, 2025 • 2 adults
Captain Rene greeted us and after a quick explanation of the plan, we were on our way. We hit the fish almost immediately. Smaller bait fish and a few good size sand trout and whiting. When we got our bait on the heavy duty rods we hit a black-tip shark, black drum and the then we tagged out on big reds. Captain Rene was very friendly, respectful, and attentive. He guided us when we needed help or if we asked for some direction. Never over bearing and never disrespectful. Captain Rene showed us a great time and delivered on a great fishing experience! Once again, thank you for your time and your service! We'll be back!

My family thoroughly enjoyed our time on the bay with Capt Rene. I had no previous fishing experience and my daughter had only seen cartoon fish before, while my husband is an enthusiastic angler. Capt Rene managed to tailor the trip and type of fishing so that our daughter and I learned a lot and my husband had an amazing time too. He was very mindful of safety on board and helped us identify and safely release the fish we caught. Bonus - all three of us managed to catch a game fish, even my 4 year old!
