Captain John and his dog Lorna are on the water year round, searching for the Low Country's finest fishing spots. John had spent his early childhood living in the Philippines where he fished with his father. He then moved to the US, where he fished the lakes of northern North Carolina for Catfish, Bass, and Crappie, before settling in Charleston where he is able to fish for a wide variety of shallow water species.

    3 Hour Trip • 2 adults

Had an excellent 3 hr inshore trip. Capt John is quite personable and friendly and it was notable that he was familiar with these waters. We had an excellent time and would definitely book again. He exceeded our expectations and can highly recommend his guidance.

What's biting with Holy City Fishing Charters in Charleston

November offers great fishing for Trout around underwater structure, with plenty of opportunities to target Red Drum, too. This is the driest month, as the fall draws to a close and the tourists leave town.

March fishing

Mar 23, 2018 • Charleston
March fishing has been surprisingly consistent despite the early fish kill that the cold temps of early January brought. We have been seeing a great number of sheepshead, and regularly catching redfish and black drum. The sea trout have also been making themselves known in the most recent trips...a big relief to many of us. The spring warm up is arriving later than normal but the bite should pickup even better as the cool weather that has been lingering around slowly fades.

Kids fishing

This is a fantastic time to take the youngsters fishing. The creeks are loaded down with fish ranging from 1 to 12lbs and the bigger redfish are consistently active as well.

The creek bite is really good with plenty of double digit fish days. Trout, redfish, black drum, sheepshead, and flounder are all being caught.

Late September fishing

Sep 24, 2017 • Charleston
The late September bite is cranked up as we head into october. Presently the redfish, sheepshead, black drum, trout, and flounder are really active on live bait. The big bull reds are also moving on through along with the sharks for anyone looking to really stretch their arms. We should see some of the best inshore fishing of the year for the next 2 months. This really is a great time to go fishing.
