This was a first for my family and myself so We did not know what to expect! The night before he calls me and says the wind is gonna be rough and if I was flexible to go that evening instead of the morning, and and we most certainly was. Getting out to fish was still a little rough but after we stopped, the wind laid and it turned out to be a nice evening of fishing! He told me during my scheduled time that the wind will be rough and let me move it to the afternoon. Then on the way out asked if we wanted a refund and cancel the trip cause the water was so rough and while fishing he kept us with a pole in hand and bait on. He’s not just about making a dollar but giving the best experience fishing he can give! This guy is absolute top notch, has a passion about fishing and he aims to please! He gave us great tips on how to cook our catch and places to eat local prior to our fishing trip! Any body with a boat can get you off shore to a fishing spot but I wanted a friendly funny local guy and he did not disappoint!

I’ve been on several chartered fishing trips and captain chuck is by far the nicest guy I’ve been out with. We were initially scheduled for an evening trip. Captain chuck was honest with us saying the bite and weather were both bad that afternoon. Offered a refund. But after talking we shot for the following morning and hit a really nice window of weather. He communicated very well before the trip, through the initial time to go and the whole time we were on the boat.  Yeah we caught fish but the time and experience we had was far better than anything pulled from the water. The captain was a big part of that. He worked baiting and trying different setups to bring the fish in. The Almacos are delicious. I would definitely rebook with him!  He’s living the saying that If you love what you do you’ll never work a day in your life.
Weddings get in the way of good fishing. If that isn’t a quote it should be!

We had an awesome trip !! When we left the marina, we went straight to our first fishing spot, no time wasted catching bait. They had everything ready to go when we arrived. We got on Mahi right away and caught our limit in no time. Not only that, they made sure our two teenage boys caught plenty of fish. Our trip ran over because they were determined to keep those boys engaged and having fun. Capt. Chuck and crew went above and beyond for us. They were constantly changing baits out, moving when things got a little slow and just took excellent care of us. I would absolutely go again with Above The Salt and Capt. Chuck !! Thanks guys !!

AWESOME TRIP! Started out at 7am and headed out. CPT Chuck carried our cooler to the boat and got us underway quickly. He was extremely knowledgeable and had plenty of ways to get the fish biting. Never really had to wait to have a hook rebaited. Caught snapper, mangrove, and the tuna of the gulf. Once we got back he skinned and fileted the fish just like he would his own. Literally all I have to do is cook it and they are ready to eat. Great trip all around, fishing, talking with chuck and listening to some great rock music! HIGHLY RECOMMEND CPT CHUCK AND ABOVE THE SALT CHARTERS!

Well, had to sneak through some dicey weather but captain chuck got us through safely watching everything. Way less than ideal conditions, we wanted red snapper and he worked hard to make it happen using every trick in the book and pulled it off. We had experienced and novice on our trip and everyone caught fish, red snapper keepers, a couple of nice mangrove snapper a couple of nice size spanish mackerel, and a lot of triggerfish (out of season unfortunately). Even my wife, who does love to fish had a great time and didn’t mind me spending the money, her first saltwater adventure.
Captain chuck was even successful in convincing my wife that we need a saltwater boat to redfish and shrimp back in Texas, Cobia maybe? Merc 400 for sure, thanks again for the hard work, the personality and your service.
