Great day on the water

The Scaled Up had a private charter out for seabass today, the first drops didnt produce anything but we made a move a few miles in and found the fish. We had to weed through a lot of shorts but managed to put some fish in the box along with a few keeper tog, although we didnt have any limit catches the charter had non stop action all day. Thats fishing though everyone went home with food for the table.

Decided after doing some maintenance to the boat we would go out and do some fishing for our self’s, with reports of tuna so scattered and tuna trips coming up for the Scaled Up i made the decision to go looking for them. Well didnt have to run far to find them, we read pleanty of bait and tuna chicks pecking away in slicks. Put out the trolling gear and within a half hour had our first yellow in the boat. We fished from 5:30am-2pm going 5/5 on 50-60lb yellowfins.

The Scaled Up was out on the sharking grounds today in search of a threasher, it didnt take long and we were hooked up to an acrobatic fish. It made several jumps which gave the guys some excitement. We had the fish to the boat several times but it wasnt ready to be landed after a half hour battle we finally got the gaff into him and tail roped. The guys went home with a lot of great eating fish.

Seabass have been ted hot

Fishing has been phenomenal with seabass, getting some nice size ling mixed in also.

Sorry for such a late report, fishing has been incredible with limit catches every trip plus the releases up to 44 inches. Every trip has been catching over 25-45 stripers per trip.

Raritan bay is on fire

We had a group of 6 out in the morning limited out in an hour and caught and releasing the rest. Total for the morning trip was over 20. The afternoon trip had a 3 person charter with absolute non stop action. Took a little time to find them but when we did it was game on. Many triples and doubles coming over the side with fish ip to 33lbs. Kept our limit with sore arms and memories.
