Newburyport, United States
- Background
- Captain Rick has been fishing the Merrimack River area for 25 years. He started surfcasting and then purchased his first boat which grew to his current vessel, a 38' Northern Bay with a big stable platform to fish from.
- Techniques
- Haddock fishing is pretty straightforward. The captain prefers to drift fish if tides are right, otherwise, you would anchor up. Bass fishing is the best when using live Mackerel and drifting different areas of the river and out front in the ocean. Casting topwater plugs is the best early in the morning and early season. This can be fun for seasoned fishermen. Tuna fishing includes getting on anchor and waiting for a bite.
