  perfect way to spend the day

  The perfect way to spend the day if you’re interested in fishing in SoCal. Capt. Hunter and his deckhand Quinton were awesome, they were super accomodating and made sure we got fish. We will definitely be using their services again to try fishing for other species when they’re in season. we caught a good variety today, did a bit of reef fishing and tried to go for halibut. overall it was an excellent experience. would highly recommend.

  Extremely kind and patient. Especially with the kids. Beyond appreciative of that. Very knowledgeable and hands on while still allowing the kids to enjoy the experience. They took us out to where our son was able make the first catch of the day and then some.

  Great Birthday Trip!

  We celebrated my son’s birthday on a fishing trip and had an amazing time. We caught four fish and even hooked a shark, which we safely released. The boat was clean and the ride was smooth. Overall, a great experience and perfect way to celebrate.

  I originally booked and corresponded with Hunter, but I was informed the night before that his dad would take us out. That would have been fine, but his dad and the person who helped seemed like they hadnt worked together before. They also were unprepared. The trip was supposed to come with live bait. There was no live bait because every place we stopped to get the bait was sold out. They said we would use frozen squid instead. When we finally found a spot to anchor (right next to a ton of other boats) there wasnt a lot of instruction on how to fish. This was my daughter’s first time fishing which we told them at rhe start. The other boats right next to us were all catching fish constantly and you could hear them cheering. I’m sure they had live bait. I guess we technically caught 1 baracuda but it wasnt even brought onto the boat because he said he didnt want the slimey fish on the boat so we didnt even get a picture. We finally realized we werent going to be catching anything so I asked that we go ahead and go back since we were already approaching the 3 hour point. The most frustrating part is that if we had live bait it would have been fun because we would have been reeling in fish like all the boats around us. Maybe this was just a very off day. Both of the guys who took us out were friendly and the boat was nice and clean. When I paid he did take about $100 off. I just do not think we got what we paid for even with this discount and if they were better prepared all of this would have been preventable. We basically paid for an expensive boat ride.

  Sorry you felt that way Nichole. When they sell out of live bait there is nothing we can do about it. Its been a struggle for the bait boats to make it all summer. Your also lucky that he took $100 off your trip. Fishing is never gaurenteed that you are going to catch so just remember that!

  Great day for fishing!

  We went out on a three hour afternoon fishing trip. Captain Hunter and his pops brought us to one spot and kept us on the Bass all afternoon. We almost hit our limit of Calico Bass as you can see. This was mine and my nephews first time fishing in the ocean and I honestly could not have imagined the turn out to be nearly as amazing as it was. The captain was so nice and helpful and they were so knowledgeable and helpful with the kids! The boat was clean and just beautiful. Overall it was 10/10 one of the best and most fun experiences we’ve ever had and we will 100% be going again in the future! I cannot Thank you guys enough for giving us such a perfect day!
