Lupo Charter
My wife and I took a full day charter on Lupo Charter with captain Mauricio and first mate Carlos.  We arranged to have them pick us up in front of our hotel with the boat and he drove us back to the hotel when we were finished. The boat was in good shape and fully stocked with fishing gear, we were pleased it had a toilet since we were on the water for over 8 hours.  They provided ice cold drinks, snacks of fresh fruit and lunch.  During our adventure Captain Mauricio skillfully took us to several different fishing spots enabling us to catch an unbelievable 14 mahimahi and 2 black tuna.  With each fish on the line Carlos helped us prepare to bring the fish on board.  Once onboard Carlos expertly filleted the fish and placed them in a cooler.  Upon the insistence of Captain Mauricio we took a bag of mahimahi back to our hotel and had the chef prepare it.  It was the best ceviche and fish I have ever had in my life.  Less than 12 hours from reel to table!  Was a great day.  I can’t say enough about Lupo Charters and highly recommend them for a great fishing adventure experience.

Started the day fishing for roosters. Caught 1 needle fish on live bait but that was it. Headed off shore for tuna, mahi, and sailfish. Trolled for most of the trip without even a bite. I totally understand that it’s fishing and there are no guarantees, but in Costa Rica (the meccca of salt water fishing) I would expect much more. There has to be something biting somewhere. There were parts of the trip that were excellent where we saw stingrays jumping out of the water, sea turtles, and tons of dolphins swimming right along side the boat. And on the way in, Carlos spotted some whales for us to photograph. It’s just disappointing how hard it is to catch fish on a blue water charter. Not blaming anything on the boat or crew. It would have been nicer if they had asked what we like to eat for sandwiches before the trip.

Awesome experience catching two sailfish and a mahi mahi. Capt Daniel and his crew made sure we got what we came for!
