Best deal in Key West! My wife and I are relatively beginner fishers and we couldn’t recommend the Salty Goat more. If you’re looking for a fun half day on the water with the chance to catch some awesome fish, AND take your catch to a local restaurant to eat, book this now.

We booked the 5 hour trip and Captain Dan was welcoming from the start, helped us get the fish that were tough to unhook off and brought us to 5+ spots to find different fish. They run a “biggest fish kept” pool where you can choose to put in 5$ and the winner takes the pot and my wife won that day by catching a 23 inch Mutton Snapper.  One person also caught a Blacktip Shark AND a baby Hammerhead (which we released of course). 

When you get back to the dock, then clean and filet anything you caught, and you can feed the Tarpon that are waiting at the dock with the leftovers, super fun.

It’s also BYOB and food. We brought our fish to Dante’s (Conch Republic also does this) and they cooked our catch (choice of blacked, grilled or fried…we always go blackened) for 10$ a pound per person, which was only $21 in total, and we could barely finish it! Would definitely go back again :)

My family and I had a great time on the Salty Goat. Smooth trip, the Captain and First Mate were great and helpful. Definitely made sure everything was taken care of for everyone on board.

Went out on a day where fishing could have been difficult. Prior days were cold and windy. The day we went out was warmer and initially calm. Captain put us on a few good areas where we caught a good number of fish. Captain and mate were friendly and personable. I recommend the Goat for someone who wants a nice day on the water and plenty of fish to catch.

Wife and I went out with Salty Goat, Captain Dan, and First Greg and had a blast. Put us literally on top of the yellowtail snappers, and we all caught plenty. Super knowledgeable, super chill guys, made for a great day.

We had the best time celebrating my 50th birthday and my nephew’s 17th birthday aboard the mighty Salty Goat. Captains Dane and Gregory were knowledgeable, attentive to everyone and ensured a successful outing. We would’ve caught more fish if the kids didn’t get seasick; but overall it was great. I would highly recommend booking with them ASAP.
