This was one of the most brutal fishing days I have experienced. We started in the morning with rain, at times heavy. Then the Thunderstorms rolled in and drove us off the lake for almost an hour. Then the 25+ mph winds kicked in, and the temp dropped from the low 60’s to the mid 30’s. We could not navigate the main lake and were relegated to select locations that we could access without main lake access and that were sheltered from the wind. It was rough. The weather was not our friend that day. But Dennis kept us in the hunt. He kept working, trying to find fish and get them to bite. We fished all day, ended up with very cold hands and feet and 3 small fish. I consider those three fish good for that day. Probably a testament to Dennis’ resilience and determination to not give up. All a guide can do is try to make the trip the best it can be with the hand that Mother Nature deals. Dennis did that. I am looking forward to using Dennis again in the future when conditions are more favorable.

Dennis was a blast to fish with as well as just chat with. He’s down-to-earth and clearly enjoys what he does! The fishing was a struggle due to a storm the night before, but with his help we were still able to land 7 bass, including an 8 pounder! I’ll definitely be booking Dennis again next time I return to Lake Fork!
