Background
My crewmen and I have extensive experience in fishing the Fort Lauderdale/Miami areas: two Bahamas Billfish Championships and numerous tournament wins in addition to our many years of local chartering. None of us enter into tournament fishing anymore and instead choose to spend our days furthering experienced and novice anglers experiences at deep sea fishing and smoothly introducing new anglers to deep sea fishing. Children are always welcome and we encourage you to bring yours along. Between us, we have a combined total of over 90 years guiding anglers in their pursuit of big game fish and also "action" charters tailored to meet each charters specific wishes. We love what we do, it is all we do, and our love for our job is easily seen with Trip Advisor and Google reviews as well as here at Fishing Booker, as all carry us with a 5-star rating.
Techniques
We offer all types of fishing approaches ranging from big bucket list fish to smaller ones for young children. Live baiting along the reef edges for Sailfish with kites a specialty. Wahoo, Mahi-Mahi, Tunas and Kings are primary trolling and live bait targets as well. We actively bottom fish for various species including grouper, snapper, Golden and Gray Tilefish and also assorted Jack species. The area being tropical and with warm water offers Sharks if you like of many sizes and numerous species throughout the year.

Fishing Reports

Good fishing action, but here comes Mo
Good fishing action, but here comes Mo
Jun 5, 2022 Fort Lauderdale
Pretty good action and catches since our last fishing report. Decent sized Kingfish are in the areas of our fishing charters in Ft. Lauderdale and we have caught them most every trip. Really good Blackfin Tunas have hit the ice and we have had some anglers leave a fish or two and enjoyed the opportunity to have some tuna on the dinner plate ourselves. Some Wahoos and snappers have also made their way aboard and to the filet tables. Lots of what we call summer Bonitos, which are thickest in July and into August are numerous and right out front the last two days. Some Sails, Sharks, Amberjacks and Mahi in the catches. Backside of and beyond the peak of Sailfish season, but some around. Tropical disturbance heading into South Florida and essentially no forecasters calling for much intensification before it gets here Sunday, It likely won't even reach Tropical storm status. So not much wind but enough to shut us down for a forced weekend vacation. The lack of concerning wind speeds is trumped by what is forecast to be a major rain event. Downright dismal this afternoon, likely downright ridiculous amount of rain tomorrow. Lots of bites the last two days and it was fun in the sun.. Not all palm trees and bikinis the next two days, more like engine rooms bathed in fluorescent lights and assorted below deck maintenance and interior areas maintenance. No fun, no sun, no bikinis. Still have the palm trees though quite wet, tuna for dinner, and we are looking forward to Monday offshore. Enjoy the pics of some of our anglers.

And now we find ourselves over half way through the month of May. We are fishing every day so please reach me direct @ **hidden content** with any and all questions, and for sure reach me direct to reserve so we can speak and tailor the charter directly to your interests. It makes a difference. That said we have been seeing varied species on our fishing charters in Ft. Lauderdale, The summer Kingfish have been out front here and we catch them with good regularity. We typically target school sized Kings unless anglers request to aim for the larger ones, which involves the use of live bait. We catch some fat ones trolling but the largest ones typically fall to live bait. Trolling produces numbers, important when families and kids are involved. Live baiting with large baits produces the true big ones, but very often fewer fish. Along with the Kingfish we have seen Just about most everything that comes through here as May almost always offers varied species. Tunas, Amberjacks, some Wahoo, Sailfish, Mahi and Bonitos in the mix. Sharks around, with more of them every week and big Barracudas on some wrecks, fun on light tackle. Some snappers, Rose perch and Golden Tilefish the last two days bouncing off the bottom in deeper water around wrecks and live bottom. That being push button fishing, better living through electricity using 12 volt electric reels. It is a lot more fun than it might sound as the angler with the best reflexes typically wins when that bite telegraphs to the rod tip. So decent catches on most days of many species. It's May. Enjoy the photos of some of our anglers and their fish. Tight lines, we'll see you on the edge
Fishing charter report Ft Lauderdale
Fishing charter report Ft Lauderdale
Apr 25, 2022 Fort Lauderdale
As expected the fishing in Ft. Lauderdale in late April has some pretty good catches. And those catches have included Kingfish, Blackfin Tunas, Wahoo, some Sailfish and Mahi-Mahi., really large sharks. And then we have the Amberjacks in town and also in good numbers. And again those good numbers are expected as this is the high season for them as they move onto the wrecks and other structures. These are big hard (ridiculously hard) fighters as many of you are aware. This is a fish some will pass on after landing one on a charter as once really is enough in some applications. Finesse over brute angler strength wins out every time, but stamina is a definite player on both angler and fish. They will admire that fish, but decline further punishment. And then some just can't get enough of these hard pulling Jacks. Reef Donkey is a fitting and popular nickname for them. We practice catch and release on the vast majority of these fish and although the numbers are high now, they are a far cry from years back when they seemed endlessly available in these particular months. When the government essentially shut down the commercial Redfish net catch all over but targeting the Gulf the focus then shifted to rod and reel attention on the Amberjacks as the replacement item for “Blackened Redfish”. And then the Amberjacks took a tremendous hit from commercial fishing until they too came under strict and then stricter regulation that again removed the attractive kill for a wholesaler aspect. So we enjoy the Amberjacks very much here. As you can see in the Amberjack photos we have included here in this report our smiling anglers that have joined us here aboard Marlin My Darlin on a fishing charter in Ft. Lauderdale enjoys the Reef Donkeys as well. Overall fishing is good for many species as I mentioned, and these Jacks are certainly involved. Tight lines and good fishing to all.
