Marlin My Darlin Sportfishing is a company with an excellent reputation and almost half a century of local experience in Fort Lauderdale and the surrounding areas. Offering all types of fishing, the crew specializes in catching big fish in a professional and relaxing atmosphere. Join them for a fun day out and you will fish with the locals like the locals.

Every charter can be tailored to meet your specific needs. Whichever species you want to take off your Southeast Florida bucket list, the crew will do their best to make it happen. Target surface and mid-depth Pelagic species, including Sailfish, Wahoo, Blackfin and Skipjack Tuna, Mahi Mahi, King Mackerel, False Albacore, Blue Marlin, and White Marlin. Troll live bait or artificial that the crew prepare themselves.

Bottom fish for Grey and Golden Tilefish, Grouper, and Snapper in the waters ranging from 50 to over 800 feet in depth. And if you are after something special, let the team take you Sailfishing. They were on the ground floor of the introduction of fishing for Sailfish with kites in South Florida!

Marlin My Darlin Sportfishing will offer spinning rods and reels and live bait for Sailfish, as well as soft rod and reel tackle for young anglers and all the way up to heavy tackle for big Shark.

All the magic happens aboard the ‘Marlin My Darlin.’ She is a 50’ customized Hatteras flybridge boat with twin 430 HP turbocharged Detroit Diesel engines. The Marlin My Darlin is a true work of art with all the comforts of home. She is fully air-conditioned with leather seating inside if you wish a break from the Floridian sun.

All trips come with Penn and Shimano tackle, as well as bottled water and the licenses.

All day charters are required to target Swordfish as they reside far offshore in the deep Gulfstream waters. These are heavy tackle 9 hour charters, a specialty charter and not for everyone as a typical all day charter priced @ $1100 (Swordfish trips are $1300) offers opportunities at more species and usually larger numbers of fish in the box and on the ice. Grand fish but limited numbers and often a "Bucket List" fish for anglers with considerable offshore experience

My crewman and I have extensive experience in fishing the Fort Lauderdale/Miami areas: two Bahamas Billfish Championships and numerous tournament wins in addition to our many years of local chartering. None of us enter into tournament fishing anymore and instead choose to spend our days furthering experienced and novice anglers experiences at deep sea fishing and smoothly introducing new anglers to deep sea fishing. Between us, we have a combined total of over 90 years guiding anglers in their pursuit of big game fish and also "action" charters tailored to meet each charters specific wishes. We love what we do, it is all we do, and our love for our job is easily seen with Trip Advisor and Google reviews as well as here at Fishing Booker, as all carry us with a 5-star rating.

So far so good weather wise for us here in South Florida and our Ft. Lauderdale fishing charters as those storms in this active hurricane season have focused their wrath on other unfortunate locations. For the second summer now on a Maine vacation wife, myself, and our out of nesters have found ourselves enduring wind and lots of rain as the remnants but still potent systems of a tropical storm/ hurricane hammered us. Not unheard of but certainly not common. I vote no threepeat please, and I also vote no tropical situations anywhere. Regarding South Florida and deep sea fishing charters we'll keep our fingers crossed, palm trees and white sand beaches don't come without an occasional toll from Mother Nature in the Sunshine State. Flat calm seas now, more in the forecast, plus plus. Here's our Ft. Lauderdale fishing report as we end the first week in September. Lots of photos of recent anglers reflecting what has been happening and continues to happen here. Good variety and decent fishing on most days. Always as in any time of year the chance for a slow day, but thankfully the fish have been cooperating on most days. Kingfish, Tunas, Wahoo, various good sized Jacks, Mahi-Mahi, oversized Cudas, Bonito, Sharks. Nice time of year to be here. Less crowds, bring the kids. Rick

Time continues to fly by and for some summer has now passed. For myself and some others a bit still remains but a couple of quick blinks and she's gone. We use “she's gone” here when the big one gets away, which as all fishermen know happens. But I'll use it here referring to summer getting away, and she is soon just a memory. Great summer, great families and their children joined us here, and we have more charters on the books. But the summer, “she gone”. So here comes “Fall”. We very much enjoy fishing in the Fall too. Fishing trends change and the foliage too, all the palm trees soon turning all those beautiful different shades of orange, pink, yellow.......Wouldn't that be a sight to behold. Miss that beautiful colorful time down here, we know when Fall arrives typically by consulting the calendar. But summer trends continue now, and with some good catches. Good fishing most days along the outside edges of what we term the “third reef”. Mahi-Mahi as pictured with this Ft. Lauderdale fishing report just off the edge. Wahoo near the reef line and also offshore of there. Nice Sail first thing this morning a mile off the beach. Trip to the Swordfish grounds failed to produce a Sword bite but some Mahi-Mahi eased the pain. Enjoy the pictures of recent anglers and always book directly with me @ **hidden content**. Less moving parts is always better. Thanks, tight lines, see you on the rip. Capt. Rick
