Excellent experience on the Ursula IV, May 15, 2023.  Communication with Olter was clear and exact. The crew was First Class! Truly lived up to their reputation. What more can I say. They took the lead with many other boats trying to follow. We caught Snapper (lady fish), Tuna, Grouper, Bonita. All in all a great outing. Highly recommend.
Only negative this day but didn’t involve Captain Olter and crew was taking a portion of the catch to near by restaurant Captain Jack’s for a meal preparation. Our impression, much of what was brought never made it to our table, and for a hefty price considering having supplied the entree.

Trip was good, almost a bust as the Marlin weren’t biting but right near the end of the day, we hooked and and hour and 15 minutes later landed a great stripped Marlin. Capt and his mates did an excellent job of assisting and doing everything they could to make it happen. Great Charter. I would use again for sure.

(Traveller advice, be prepared to fork out some money if you’re going to get your fish filleted and another chunk to have it cooked. Can make for some pricy fish so come prepared.)

Been coming to Cabo since 2010.  This is the best fishing experience by far.
We caught one Dorado in first three hours. Captain then gave us the option, keep trolling for the elusive big one or try fishing on the bottom for fish.  We elected to try our luck at 300 feet.  Wow, we caught 20 fish in a half hour.  What a wonderful experience.
Then we resumed trolling.  A big one did appear and hit on the bait (there were tooth marks on the bait fish to prove it). The captain and mate literally jumped into action with two extra rods prepared in case of this event to go with the seven lines already in the water.  We didn’t get the big one but not for lack of effort.
Captain radioed ahead to have a person waiting to take our catch to be cleaned.  We cleaned 14 fish.  In addition to Mahi Mahi, we had grouper and white fish as well as rock fish for cerviche to take to Pochos on the Marina for three nights of dinner for entire party.
This was our first time to charter Ursula Sport Fishing.  Blew all others out of the water.  Will book them on our two trips we have planned to Cabo in 2024.

The targeted species (Roosterfish) were not biting today. The crew tried very hard in both the Sea of Cortez and the Pacific with no luck so they changed up a few things and had us on skipjacks all day. We boated 18!  While not the targeted species the crew did an awesome job keeping us busy with these little torpedos. Bravo to Manuel and Miguel for providing us with a great day.

Oh, what a day, oh happy day, what a day to fish for Marlin. Captain Olter wished me luck I had told him that Marlln was on the top my bucket list but that I was running out of time I am 83 years old and I am experiencing Parkinson’s disease.. His response was, “Don’t worry, we will take care of you”. I had selected Captain Olter’s charter because of all the positive commentary he had received from other charters. My wife, our daughter and son-in-law and the three grandchildren had arranged for a charter on Sunday all of us could be on the boat. The kids enjoyed the ride tremendously and the crew made all of us satisfied and pleased..We
caught about 10 mahi-mahi and two Bonito Bonita .Needless to oh to say we had a very tasty dinner that evening

Although the day has been delightful for everyone and we celebrated a little bit that night. I still did not have the Marlin that I had been after. I felt like I was running out of time. .One more night or one more day and the chance would have run its course. Based on the number of Marlin in port I got quite nervous about the opportunity to catch a Marlin. My son-in-law, Ren was eager for the day to be a success. He wanted to take one home if we could and we agreed that he could have his Marlin So if we get a good catch and release what everr

Captain Omar headed along the Pacific west coast and we began to troll. We had it whatI think of as south west and in the first hour ran and I each caught a mahi-mahi .after that there was not much action the captain gave us a couple of mahi-mat to Ren went into the cabin and went to sleep. I , the other hand sat and kept the captain and our deck and McDowell turn the boat and headed South west at that point the deck and put some special lures and promise me that we would catch some Marlon soon at that point the deckhand put some special lures and promised me that we would catch some more along with those lures an hour went by and I was beginning to lose Faith.All all of a sudden the captain Hollers"Marlon: and the deckhand went into motion :big fish, big fish” he cried out loud as he pushed me up onto the captains chair. I could not see the Marlin; but I could could feel the shutter of the fish as is traveled as far as the line would allow him or her Ren came out from under the cabin and soundly in the other chair seal the shutter of the fish acid thrashed its way across the horizon 000 what a joy Ren came out from under the cabin and settle in the other chair as we agreed upon I gave him the real about halfway through gathering that Fishin he did an excellent job of finishing off the fish and the first night and Ren brought the fishing board whereupon they bludgeoned to death don’t do that just getting ready as they were pulling in fish number 1 fish. Number two bit on my watch and I began to pull him or her in D deckhand moved us over so bad I was sitting on the porch porch and Ren was sitting on the starboard we have a picture of both of us with the deckhand rearranged us so that I was on the port I’m sure I park and he was on the starboard I had my “Ahab” moment as I l.ooked into the Marllins eyes are deckhand switched Ren and myself at that time and I’m hooked another. This may have been the strongest Marlin that we had hooked As the first one had   this one had shuddered what made me think it wat and that was that took the longest time to get into the area of the boat I had been on the fish for about a half an hour when I gave it to Ren to bring it on my side if you have any idea about sailing with Ursula fishing let me reassure you that you cannot do any better than chapter Walter and his Ursula fishing crew remind me that I’m done
