- Affectionately known as “Juanga”, Captain Lopez was born in La Guaira, Venezuela - a famous marlin fishing town - 38 years ago. A lover of the sea from his first day on the water, Juanga started his formal fishing career in Venezuela as a mate to Captain Dave Nolling). From this famous captain he went on to fish with another legendary Captain, Paul Ivey in Venezuela. In 1997,1998 and 1999, Juanga and his crew were recognized by the IGFA Billfish foundation as top white marlin crew. - I love to use ligth tackle as 2,4,6,8,12 and 20 lbs test !! we also do a lot fly fishing for billfish do to the calm conditions here in Guatemala. in resume I just love to catch fish no matter how....
