This was my 2nd trip with Matt on Lake Ida. This guy knows this lake, he knows how to catch the bait, where the best bite is, where to cast and everything you need to do in order to catch some fish.

His boat is perfect and was comfortable enough for 3 grown men plus himself to fish out of comfortably, without the fear of getting tangled up. He let us fish with live and artificial bait and we caught plenty of fish on both. 

While the trip was advertised for the famous Peacock Bass, we caught Clown Knifefish and more largemouth bass than we could throw a stick at, including a HUGE 6lb stud that helped one of the guys on our trip hit his new PB.

My dad and I had the pleasure of fishing with Captain Matt, and it was truly an unforgettable experience. We were targeting peacock bass and clown knifefish, and let me tell you, Captain Matt delivered! In just four hours, we caught over 25 fish. The action was nonstop, and we had such a blast.

Captain Matt was amazing—knowledgeable, patient, and incredibly friendly. He knew exactly where to take us for the best fishing spots and made sure we were comfortable and enjoying ourselves the entire time. His expertise and passion for fishing really shone through, and it made the trip even more special.

Matt met us on time and was loaded with bait and ready to go.
Matt knew the right spots and we caught too many fish to count. Peacock bass,  largemouth bass, clown knife fish and a crappie. Many times we had 2 fish at a time and sometimes 3 at a time!
Matt was very courteous and professional.  His boat is stable, well equipped and fast. He got us fishing quickly.
We will definitely be back!

Matt was a great guide. Had patience with the two kids I brought and certainly put us on the fish! We caught over 20 fish with about 5 different species. Highly recommended
