    Fishing

    Half Day Trip (AM)2 adults

Overall, the trip was a fun and enjoyable one. We planned it last minute and didn’t know what to expect because we’re used to Florida charters where you catch fish after fish after fish. The captain was very friendly and respectful, he even brought drinks for us to have on the trip. The trip went fairly well, although the first two hours we didn’t not catch a single fish or touch a rod. Make sure you are looking to do a trolling charter if you use this company. A lot of sitting and waiting for fish to bite and less hands on actually fishing yourselves. In the end, we caught a few snook, one tarpon, one jack, and a couple small fish. The captain also stayed out a little past our time & took us to see the fort from the water. It ended up being a very fun day. I would recommend this charter, however, just make sure it’s the type of fishing you’re looking for so you’re not disappointed!

    Fishing with Yorman

    Half Day Trip (AM)2 adults

I had a great experience in Puerto Rico fishing with Capt Yorman Sierra of Bayside Charters. I happen to live on saltwater and fish quite often. I also have started making a habit of booking a charter whenever I can while on vacation. With that being said, I can discern when a local Capt knows how to get on fish and also when they appear to be motivated to do so. Capt Yorman set the expectations and delivered on a day that initially seemed less than ideal for fishing. After losing at least 3 fish and getting almost spooled by a shark, we ended up putting 5 different species on the boat including a few Jacks, a Snook, King Mackerel, and even a Remora. While we did not see, or get a Tarpon, it absolutely was not for lack of effort. Capt Yorman pulled out every stop to get me on fish this day and especially worked everything to get us to a Tarpon. However, what I enjoyed the most about this entire trip was Yorman himself, he was warm, attentive, and also provided me what I always hope to get from a charter Capt, and that is some education. He is definitely a master of his craft. Needless to say, I had a great experience with Capt Yorman and Bayside Charters and would recommend them and Capt Yorman. -John Reid

Great Fishing on Christmas Week

Dec 27, 2016 • San Juan
This week the bite has been very good. Caught plenty of snook and jack crevalle on the back channels to keep us entertained. The story of the week was the monster tarpon caught on Wednesday the 27th. After a thrilling hour and a half fight, Capt. Luis managed to catch and release a huge tarpon estimated at 85+ pounds. One of the biggest tarpon caught this year.

Tarpon and Snook at the Bay

May 29, 2016 • San Juan
Beautiful day with flat seas gave us the opportunity to do some early reef fishing to target the tasty King Mackerel and Yellowtail Snappers. To our surprise, the bite was very slow at the reef and after no action at the reef, we decided to target the tarpon and snook at the channels. On our way back to the channels, we found a huge bait ball in the middle of the Bay and managed to fill our two livewells with a single shot. We were ready for the tarpon! Tarpon were not rolling at the channels, but we knew they were there! 5 minutes after throwing in lines, we hook up with a huge snook that unfortunately pulled the hook after couple of minutes. They were biting! Next drift, we hook up with a decent 6 pound snook that gave a good fight and gave us the first catch of the day. On the next drift we were able to catch and release a decent tarpon as well. We decided to go back to the bay to target the elusive jack crevalle to complete our Inshore Grand Slam but no luck. We hooked up with another tarpon that pulled the hook after a couple of jumps. Overall, a successful fishing trip, happy clients and happy captain!

Tarpon, Mackerels are Kings Hot Bite

May 14, 2016 • San Juan
This week's fishing was lots of fun filled with lots of fishing action. Saturday Morning went out reef fishing early in the morning before the wind picked up and caught two HUGE Mackerels with live bait. The wind picked up later and came back to target the tarpon. Jumped off a nice one after a couple of jumps. Clients took fresh fillet to a nearby restaurant "El Pescador" and had a blast. Saturday Afternoon had a nice mixed bag action releasing a tarpon, barracuda and snappers. Sunday Morning was filled with action. Caught 15 Mackerels and a tuna out of 25+ bites! We also had the thrill to see a HUGE Barracuda attacking two of our hooked fish. We enjoyed a couple of spectacular jumps by the barracuda on its full wildlife behavior getting its morning breakfast! Clients had a blast and took home some dinner too!

Mixed Bag Action Continues!

Apr 16, 2016 • San Juan
Mixed bag action continues at San Juan Bay. We had perfect weather during the week and were able to take our customers to do some reef fishing for the hard fighting and tasty King Mackerel. Caught nice king mackerels on our reef fishing trips including 2 over 23 pounds! Also caught a 20 pound barracuda. The inland fishing was also good with tarpon and jack still biting. Caught nice Jacks averaging over 25 pounds and tarpon bite has slowed down a bit but they are still biting!
