Me and my son had an amazing time with Captain Carl! I was nervous going with my 4 year old son because I know he has his limits in terms of time, attention and interest. CC did everything right and made the trip so we could both enjoy what we were there to do. 

When we got started, he set up my sons rod first to get him going. He used the right bait to get fish on his line that he was able to reel in right away! He also had a great sense of humor to keep him laughing and having a good time! When we caught sharks or fish we weren’t keeping, he took time to show them to us, let us touch (when safe), and help throw them back as needed.

He gave me a few different rigs to try out and had me getting bites in no time (although, we were catfished a lot, literally caught about 4 of 5 catfish in a row). When we weren’t getting the right fish we wanted, he know when to stop and move locations.

Toward the end of the trip, my son had had enough, was tired, and starting to get a bit cranky so I had to switch my focus from fishing to him. CC had a few lines out and when there was a fish on the line, he would bring the rod over to me so I could reel it in. When we said it was enough, he hustled to get everything cleaned up and get us back to shore.

If you are looking for a trip to take with kids, this is your only option. When we take our next trip to the Keys, will definitely be booking with Captain Carl again!

Not sure where to begin with the most amazing trip my family and I had with Capt. Carl last evening! Starting off let’s talk about his beautiful boat featuring cleanliness and comfort. We had a wonderful relaxing ride out to our fishing destination where we began to catch a couple of Margate, then thought we had to end our trip because of a storm outta nowhere. Although, Capt. Carl simply relocated us where he led us to schools yellowtail snapper catching a total of 16 fish. Capt. Carl helped us make remarkable memories with our family. We thank you Capt. for your kindness and hospitality and when we comeback to Marathon we will be sure to book you again. We all enjoyed such an excellent trip! Weather was fantastic! Catching every fish was exciting and a learning experience. Captain Jim made sure we were all having fun! We will definitely do it again! He put so much effort to make my grandson an expert fisherman!

Great afternoon with Capt Carl. My husbands first fishing trip, he liked it. Caught 12 species of fish and saw some turtles. He gave my son several science lessons about the fish we caught. Even caught a nurse shark and a baby hammerhead. Capt Carl gave us a couple of recommendations of restaurants where they would cook our fish, so we went straight to the restaurant with our fish and had them for dinner. Thanks for a great trip.

We had 4 people in our group. Two adults and a 12 and 15 yr old. The caption was awesome and very knowledgeable. He took the time to teach the kids and helped them catch fish. My son even caught a shark. Highly recommend this charter
