I realize it’s called “fishing,” not “catching” for a reason, but somehow we expected to catch more than 4 fish in 4 hours. With only 6 lines in, and only 5 actual bites to attempt to reel in, only half our party of 10 got the experience of actual reeling. After a previous 10 hour early morning charter, the captain was clearly not interested in providing a quality afternoon experience, circling only one general fishing spot for 2 hours and spending most of his time on his phone playing games or texting in his chair. His first mate, Bobby, was a hard worker who helped us greatly with reeling in our couple of fish. We have taken other charters, where the captain puts more effort into putting us on fish, trying other locations, talking to us, etc. The culmination of this boat ride was being sprayed with cleaning chemicals while Bobby cleaned the boat on our 40 minute ride back to the dock. With 2 kids and 3 teens, this was not the experience we had hoped to give them for $1200. I would not recommend this experience to other families.
