Started at 9.00 am, a little later start than we were used to due to the tides, but this turned out to be perfect. We had a beautiful run out to our first of many fishing spots, where we caught a wide variety of species. Once this spot was exhausted, we headed to the next place. Each time we changed gear and Mike set us up for success. Grunts and red snapper started going into the cooler.
Captain Mike wasn’t shy about sharing his knowledge and kept the boat moving to the best locations in open water and around the many small mangrove islands.
The redfish fishing was fun, and we kept a few of those for dinner.
All too soon, 6 hours had passed, and we headed back to the dock to watch Captain Mike skillfully fillet and bag our catch.
I would thoroughly recommend Captain Mike and will book another trip soon.

We had an amazing time out on the water with Capt. Mike from Salt Faced Charter! From start to finish, everything about the trip was top-notch. We caught a limit of redfish, plus plenty of mangrove snapper and grunts, which made for an exciting and action-packed day.

Capt. Mike was extremely professional, yet super easy to talk to — it felt like fishing with a longtime friend who really knows his stuff. His boat was clean, comfortable, and loaded with top-of-the-line equipment, which made a huge difference in the experience.

Saltface knows where the fish are, and how they move during tidal shifts.  The boat is beamy and spacious for 4 anglers to fish comfortably.  However, when the wind forces everyone to cast same direction, the stern platform is tight for casting because the rod storage.

The lack of live shrimp for bait was surprising, but we still limited out on reds in 5 hours.  Plenty of trout on artificials too.

Captain Mike runs a great charter and will put you on the fish.  He knows the area so well and where and when the fish will be biting.  I would highly recommend Captain Mike for a great day on the water and fishing.
