Saltface Charters
Saltface Charters welcomes you down to the picture-perfect waters of Homosassa to spend the day catching tasty, hard-fighting fish in the Florida sun. Captain Mike has been working these waters for decades and knows all the best spots to get you on that fish of your dreams.
The waters around Homosassa are so full of fish you'll have a hard time choosing what to target. The local bays and backwaters are packed with tasty Redfish, Flounder, Trout, and Snook. Head further out (only available for full day trips and are weather dependent), and you'll find Grouper, Black Seabass, Sheepshead, and more! If the choice is too much for you, why not book a full day trip and enjoy the best of both?
Even on a half day, Captain Mike will make sure you head home with a trunkful of fish. His 24' Carolina Skiff is perfect for navigating Homosassa's winding backwaters, with a shallow draft and a stealthy trolling motor to avoid spooking the fish. Whatever you target, you can do so with confidence, using only the best Shimano and Penn equipment to make sure you bag the best fish.
During the summer, Saltface Charters offers special scalloping trips. These active adventures let you get into the water to dive for delicious Scallop. They're perfect for families and great fun for kids (6 years and up), plus you can fit 6 guests onboard on these trips.
This is your chance to experience Homosassa's awesome angling with a guide who knows every inch of the area. All trips come with tackle, bait, ice, and licenses, so all you need is your food and drinks. And don't forget to pack a big cooler to take your fish home once Captain Mike has filleted them for you!
Please keep in mind that exact trip times will depend on the tide. Capt. Mike will do his best to accommodate your needs, but be sure to contact him prior to the trip to agree on the departure time.

When I tell you the captain did not stop trying to get us on fish, im not lying. We limited out on redfish, speckled trout, and 5 black drum. Plus the countless throwbacks. I would highly recommend Salt Face and will be definitely be returning again. 5/5 stars. The captain was very helpful and knowledgeable .
Started at 9.00 am, a little later start than we were used to due to the tides, but this turned out to be perfect. We had a beautiful run out to our first of many fishing spots, where we caught a wide variety of species. Once this spot was exhausted, we headed to the next place. Each time we changed gear and Mike set us up for success. Grunts and red snapper started going into the cooler. Captain Mike wasn't shy about sharing his knowledge and kept the boat moving to the best locations in open water and around the many small mangrove islands. The redfish fishing was fun, and we kept a few of those for dinner. All too soon, 6 hours had passed, and we headed back to the dock to watch Captain Mike skillfully fillet and bag our catch. I would thoroughly recommend Captain Mike and will book another trip soon.
It was a very hard day of fishing because the wind was wrong and it was a cold front. But our captain made sure he tried his best to put us on fish and we had a beautiful snook on the line and lost it. Caught some trout and seen many more fish. If they were biting we would have loaded the boat. Captain Mike knows where to find them.
Great trip with Captain Mike! Good coordination beforehand with Cindy and Mike. Family of 4 reeled in fish all day!
Captain Mike took good care of us. He knows the water and the fish. we had a great day.
