Half Day Trip AM - Inshore (MAX 3) • 1 adultThe winds were calm so Nick suggested we go offshore. We got to an area he had marked on his GPS. We were on fish immediately. Caught a wide variety of fish. A 4 to 5 foot shark followed up a smaller fish I had caught. Great to see. Sharks bit us off a few times so Nick set up a pole for sharks. Within 3 minutes we were hooked up. After about a 25 minute fight we got the fish to the boat. This was a 6 footer. Had a great time, came back to shore with tired arms from reeling up all the fish. Will definitely fish with Nick again. Just a great friendly guy. You won’t go wrong fishing with Captain Nick!!!

Half Day Trip AM - Inshore (MAX 3) • 2 adultsGreat boat, great gear, great captain. Captain Nick is awesome. Very personable and welcoming. We had a cold front move in, and Captain Nick called me the day before to warn us and let us know he’d get creative. He turned a day that would normally be a slow bite into an epic day. Caught multiple species (snook, snapper, Jack, catfish). Nick is a wealth of knowledge with a wide range of expertise in targeting just about all species. Which was extremely helpful to a fishing novice with us. As someone who’s been on dozens of fishing charters, Captain Nick is one of the best.

We had an amazing time fishing both in the Gulf of Mexico and the inland waters, and Captain Nick made the whole trip special. From the moment we met, it was clear that Captain Nick was not only an expert fisherman but also fantastic with kids. My young ones were totally engaged throughout the day. He was patient, teaching them the basics while making sure they had a blast reeling in their catches. The way he kept things fun yet educational was awesome. And from my 11 year old he said "I feel like he's my best fishing friend now." Whether we were out on the Gulf, jigging for some larger catches, or on the calmer inland waters, he knew exactly where to go for the best action. His local knowledge was spot on, and he made sure we were comfortable with the gear. The equipment was top-notch. Overall, the experience was fantastic. We walked away with plenty of fish, 9 species total, great memories, and a new appreciation for the sport. If you’re in the Englewood area and looking for a fishing trip that’s both relaxing and thrilling, definitely give Captain Nick a call. Highly recommend!

After quite a few days of below average temperatures with cloudy, rainy, and windy conditions the tides have turned in our favor.
With the lower water temperatures species like sheepshead in particular as well as trout and tripletail are eager and willing to feed. Did I mention they're all delicious and open for harvest?
Fishing looks great next week and favorable for the Gulf of Mexico.

The sheepshead fishing has been great. If you want to take some fillets home for a family fish fry- you're in luck!
We've been catching great numbers lately and had some trout and redfish and black drum mixed in every so often!

Fall fishing in SW Florida

Bait is abundant, water temperatures are perfect and the fish are hungry. November's one of the best month to fish the waters from Englewood to Boca Grande. Lots of small to medium snook with some nice reds mixed in! There's also been some tripletail out in thr gulf when the weatehr allows. All in all it's a great time to book a trip and enjoy the wonderful weather and rip some lips!

The silver king awaits.

Tough to put into words the satisfaction when you grab one of these prehistoric fish by the face.
Allow me to explain...
If you know me you know that I have a love/ hate relationship with the silver king. In particular I despise fishing the pass. Well, on Friday we fished for 6 hours in Boca Grande pass and had only 4 bites. We landed 0 fish. Yep, that's right I got skunked.
Tarpon fishing can be like that sometimes but when every boat around you is hooking up and flying fish in all directions it can take a toll on your morale.
Before we fishing the pass my regular client specifically said he wanted to fish the pass. I tried my best to persuade them otherwise and even reassured them I knew where they were off the beach and we wouldn't have to deal with any other boats or sharks. Well when a customer has fished with you so many times that they pay your mortgage as a captain you do whatever they want.
With my ego broken down a little I got up at 4:30 on Saturday morning and decided to go to the beach by myself and get some vitamin sea. First bait in the water at 7:30 got smoked but the fish broke instantly.
With tarpon fishing you literally have to make every bite count. I was crushed. About an hour or so passed and I got another perfect opportunity and was able to get tight and eventually get this beauty boatside. As luck would have it a boat was passing by and was kind enough to snap some photos and text them to me today.
All the hard work, early mornings, hours and hours spent getting the right bait finally paid off and I was able to tango with the silver king.
That's all I wanted. Just 1 fish for me per year is all I need. All the rest are for my customers. Trust me when I tell you that catching a tarpon solo is one of the hardest things to do but lord was it worth it.
I tell people that tarpon fishing is the most frustrating yet rewarding fishing there is- there's literally nothing like it.
May is filling up quick so get your tarpon trips locked in ASAP.

Stellar snook bite

The late December snook bite has been incredible. The big cold front will change things and usher in the winter fish.
Over the next month or two the speckled trout, sheepshead, and tripletail should really get fired up. And guess what? They're all in season and wonderful table fare.
Lock in your trip before the prine dates and tides are booked.
