Charter started with excellent communication about the trip with Chris contacting us the via the app right after booking and the evening before to provide detail and answer questions. We arrived and Chris and his first mate Keith were ready for us. Greeting our party of 4 teens/pre-teens and 2 adults near the boat. Once on the boat, we received a detailed safety briefing and we confirmed our fishing interests. Along the journey out to the first fishing spot we spotted several dolphin pods which everyone enjoyed. First couple spots we hit were inundated with Trigger fish which weren’t large enough to keep, but undaunted Capt Chris quickly identified new spots to try and we finally hit a very nice spot where we caught 5 large Mingos within a few minutes with Chris and Keith constantly helping each of by quickly baiting lines, helping the kids reel in fish etc .. the sport dried up but we moved to several more and ended up catching another large Mingo keeper. Everyone had a blast and we would highly recommend Shoal River and Capt Chris for your next fishing charter.

Captain Chris went above and beyond making my son’s senior fishing trip an unforgettable memory. My son, brother in law, and myself had an amazing morning out on the water. Chris was very knowledgeable on the area and worked tirelessly to put us on some fish. We will be back for sure!!!

Even though the bite was slow for the species we were targeting, Captain Chris stayed out and made sure we got plenty for dinner. Add in a huge red snapper and nice grouper, along with numerous triggerfish and Ruby reds, made a very enjoyable and a success. Would definitely look with Captain Chris again.

If you’re thinking about taking the ladies with you, this is your boat. The captains patience and boat facilities made their trip a winner.

We went out on the morning off shore trip! It was a birthday trip for my boyfriend who is a seasoned fisherman. I was there for the water, the views and the sunshine. Captain Chris was amazing. I enlisted his son as my emotional support fisherman and it worked great he hooked them and I reeled them. Team work makes the dream work! My guy got to catch a cobia which was a first for him and we got a lot of great keepers to take home. FYI - ladies it’s a real toilet on board and not a 5 gallon bucket! Win win. We will back next year and hope to spend the day with these guys. Thank you for making some magical memories with us!

We had a great trip with shoal river outdoors today! Captain Chris and first mate Keith were gracious and professional hosts. Very attentive to us, making sure we understood basic safety procedures, rules of the boat and the basic fishing rules.  They put us on good fishing grounds and we caught some fish. Unfortunately, as anglers, we were not practiced in recognizing the tale take sign for when a fish was taking the bait. We got many hits, but failed to land many.
Overall, it was a wonderful trip and experience. My grandson was super excited with the whole day. In fact, he caught the fish!
