Hi Mariana,

I take pride in my work and have the hopes that every customer leaves happy. The boat is rated for 8 people and has fit bigger parties then yours with ease and comfort, when we came into the heavy chop i offered to let you and your family move to the rear of the boat to be more comfortable but you refused. At the time we discussed going out at all points in the day was producing fish but as we came closer to the date of the trip the bite started to slow down after 11am due to the rising temperature, which I told you upon the arrival of the trip.  Despite those factors I made sure your family had fish on their lines and at the end of the day you had caught about 20-25 fish with your children catching the biggest fish of the day around with a 2 ½ ft – 3ft gar. While I understand you want for me to teach your kids in depth how to fish I have to acknowledge that between the five people in your family I was baiting and casting lines, controlling where the boat was sitting, moving from spot to spot to try and ensure fish, paying attention to boat traffic around me, looking for movements in the water, making sure your family was safe etc.  The reason I used the same hooks and same 2 baits is because that is the appropriate setup for this area during this time of year. I have been fishing all of my life and can confidently say that the choices I made for your rod, hook, and reel, as well as bait, came from a place of lifetime of knowledge as well as discussion from other charter captains within the area and what was working for them while going after the same species of fish we were.

Fishing is a sport and while it can be disappointing when a trip does not go exactly to plan it is also important to recognize that these are live animals that we are hunting. If you would like to speak about this further, I am happy to have a discussion and try to make the situation right. As I stated before at the end of the day, I want all my clients to leave happy and if they don’t, I would like to work something out where I can make them happy.
