Ich war mit meiner Freundin einen ganzen Tag mit Atef und seiner Crew unterwegs. Aufgrund des Wetters konnten wir nicht die Hauptspots beangeln. Trotzdessen hat Atef für uns das beste Angelerlebnis herausgeholt. Wir durften dabei unterschiedlichste Angelmethoden ausprobieren und haben viele Fische fangen können. Unser Highlight war das Tiefseeangeln mit elektrischen Ruten auf Tintenfische. Des Weiteren wurde der frisch gefangene Fisch direkt Vorort zubereitet, was wirklich fantastisch war! Wir waren mehr als zufrieden und freuen uns bald wiederzukommen! Danke an Atef und seine Crew für diesen tollen Tag!

After being picked up at our hotel by Artef the captain we arrived safely to the boat. We set sail and started trolling straight away and had our first take but we lost the fish. We continued trolling and had another take that resulted in a small dorado. This was then cooked for lunch and was very nice. We then did some jigging and caught a variety of reef fish to use as bait. A bit more trolling and then it was time to catch some calamari. We were set up with electric reels and fished in 750M of water and caught large squid up to around 7 kg. Again the skipper cooked the calamari for us to eat. We had a great day and would not hesitate to go again when in Egypt.

Während unseres Urlaubs in Hurghada buchte ich 2 Tage Fischen mit Atef für mich und meine frau.

Wir haben per Trolling, Deep Drop und Jigging geangelt. Dabei haben wir reichlich Squids und Rifffische geangelt. Während des Deep Drop bekamen wir Besuch von einem Delphin, der es auf unseren Fang abgesehen hatte. Er hat ein großes Stück aus unserem Tintenfisch herausgebissen. Auf der Rückreise an tag 1 haben wir zwei SkipJack Thunfische gefangen.

Am zweiten Tag sind wir vor einem großen Riff vor anker gegangen, leider hatten wir unsere Schnorchelausrüstung nicht dabei.

An beiden Tagen hat die Crew ein leckeres Mittagessen für uns **hidden content** gab außerdem gekühlte Soft Getränke und Melone.

During our vacation in Hurghada, I booked two days of fishing with Atef for me and my wife.

We did trolling, deep dropping, and jigging. We caught plenty of squid and reef fish. During the deep dropping, we were visited by a dolphin who was after our catch. It took a large bite out of our squid. On the return trip on day 1, we caught two Skipjack tuna.

On the second day, we anchored in front of a large reef; unfortunately, we didn’t have our snorkeling gear with us.

On both days, the crew prepared a delicious lunch for us. We also served cooled soft drinks and melon.

My wife, brother-in-law, nephew and I had the great pleasure to be guests of captain Atef and his cool crew at the end of April.
The trip started at 8 o’clock from Makadi Bay with no wind and 30 degrees already. On the way to the first spot, captain Atef explained the plan for the day and prepared the rods.
After about half an hour we arrived at spot #1 and we did some jigging in about 20-30m of depth. Luckily the wind picked up a little and we could do 2-3 drifts, on which we each caught our first fish (coral trout, grouper, snappers). But due to the hot temperature and lots of jellyfish captain Atef wasn’t really happy with the catch so on to the next spot.
Spot #2 was at about 80m of depth and we did some deep jigging. But heavy lures (200-250g) and the rising heat (38 degrees) already took it’s toll on us Middle European freshwater anglers, so we kept this stop rather short to have our previously caught fish for lunch (very tasty!) and a snorkeling break to cool off a bit.
Due to our “unlucky” first stops captain Atef asked us if we would like to try some deep sea fishing for squid with electric reels. We happily accepted and off to spot #3 we went.
In the middle of nowhere we stopped and Atef and his crew prepared the squid lures. It was so amazing - the lures went down (which took forever) and at a depth of about 650m we hooked some squid out of nowhere. Reeling them up took even longer, maybe 15-20 minutes - quite an eternity for perch anglers 😉. We caught 5 squid in total - what an experience, so cool!
On the way back to the pier we did some trolling and hooked a skipjack tuna for a perfect ending of a hot day on Hottuna on the Red Sea.
Thank you captain Atef and crew! You really took good care of us and introduced us to new world of fishing. Hope to go fishing with you again in the future!

I was delighted to make this trip out with a friend of mine with the hope of getting a few runs, Yellowfin, Skipjack, Dogtooth were the target primarily and maybe the outside chance of a Sailfish (a bit early for them). We had a blast with 6 runs 2x Skipjacks, 1x 20kg Yellowfin Tuna to the boat between us, also I lost a very big DogTooth Tuna which gave me the middle finger and went hell for leather! Runs I’ve never experienced in my 30 years of angling, electric beyond comprehension!

Atef is very clearly knowledgeable and knows exactly what is possible and what is not, I can’t recommend him highly enough and if I find myself back out on the Red Sea coast I’ll certainly try to get back out there with him.

You won’t be disappointed. However, this is angling and it won’t always go to plan!
