Captain Matt & his son Gio were great! We told him we wanted to catch Mahi Mahi, and even though it’s not the right time of year, he put us on them. We didn’t catch a ton, but we were able to catch exactly what we wanted. It was a fun trip! Just a heads up for anyone that gets motion sickness: the waves in the North Shore are no joke!! Take some Dramamine or use sea sick patches.

We took a 5-hr morning trip with Capt Matt and had a blast. Didn’t catch any fish but didn’t stop us from having a good time. Matt was really fun to talk to and had lots of good stories. It’s just been a down year for fishing the North Shore altogether and Matt did everything in his power to put us on some Ono, but we can force the fish to bite. Still a 10/10 trip and absolutely will be booking with Lucky Lass again the next time we’re in Hawaii!

Captain Matt was super helpful, friendly and honest. We started the morning off catching some live bait and right off the bat I was not too familiar with the gear I was given but the captain showed me everything I needed to know. My father and I had an amazing time with Captain Matt! he was very knowledgeable and friendly. He made us feel welcome and safe. He is very engaging, friendly and knew where to find the fish!  We didn’t have much luck trolling, but Captain Matt took us bottom fishing using live fish bait on his favorite spot where my father end up catching a fish “UKU” he also cleaned the fish for us when we got back on the harbor. We had a fantastic time. Matt was very knowledgeable and willing to do what it took to catch fish!  We were able to catch 2 Mahi Mahi! Can’t wait to book next time we’re in Oahu!
