Captain and crew were very friendly and knowledgeable.  We enjoyed spending time with them.

We had 4 sharks hooked which exceeded our expectations.  However, every one broke off taking the leader hook and weight with it before any of us was able to crank the reel once.  We were told sharks’ skin cut the line.  But, all but one of the breaks occurred hundreds of yards from the hook, according to the guide and mate.  It is easy to imagine the line was in need of replacement from repeated chaffing on the sand bar.

Took my three children and wife on this excursion. It’s surf fishing from the shore. Conditions weren’t optimal and that’s a large part of why we didn’t catch any sharks and that’s understandable. Not much the guide can do about that. However, he had some friends from out of town visiting and were there “helping” with our outing. They were nice and did help here and there but honestly they were more of a distraction to the guide and I don’t think my family and our experience were the priority. Maybe this was a one time thing and he did offer to give us a discount on our next trip but I’m not sure I’ll be taking him up on that. Since the wind and currents were so strong and it wasn’t likely we were going to catch any sharks we should have adapted to the conditions and surf fished more for smaller fish and let the kids have more fun. He’s a nice guy and seems to care but I expect a little more professionalism when I’m paying for a trip and want my family to have a fun experience.
