Captain showed up early so we got as much time on the water as possible. The ship was clean and ready to go when we got there. Most of all even after saying we may not catch anything, which any fisherman knows is a possibility, we still landed a barracuda and a Mahi Mahi. The waters were a little rough and there were a couple rain showers during our trip, Captain Jiji still kept us dry and stable through it all. Other than more fish, we couldn’t have asked for more. We will book again on our next trip to the dominican

So we started the day with a surprise time change (ship time vs. local time). I quickly communicated with the Captain and we worked through the meeting time. Easy and quick communication! He waited on us to pass through the gate in Amber Cove and after a quick drive we were at the boat. Great overview of the day and we headed out. We were warned the water was rough, but thought we were tough enough. We were not after 2 hours and decided to head back in. The crew was incredibly patient between running the lines and taking care of the few that weren’t up to the waves. With all that going on, still brought in a barracuda to close out the day. Got some pictures and we were back on the van headed back to the port. All in all, a great day on the water and some memories in the DR.

Stopped at Amber cove on a cruise, was picked up right outside the port by Dona Nina fishing crew. About an hour into the trip we started catching fish! Tuna, wahoo, and 2 sailfish!! The captain and first mate both said it was very rare to catch 2! Couldn’t thank them enough, they really do run a great operation! Was dropped back off at the cruise port after the day was over. Memories to last a lifetime! The waves are pretty good size so the fishing boat does move around and can make people sick but we didn’t have any problems at all, but be prepared to feel the ocean. If you’re looking for a real fishing charter (not some booze cruise for bait fish), you need to book with Captain Carlos Herrera. I have been on all kinds of boats and worked on charters myself. I grew up on boats and fishing and Captain Carlos is the real deal, as we were leaving we were seeing other boats coming in and over the radio and no one was catching, Captain Carlos put us on a White Marlin within the first hour, I can tell he has the experience that I was looking for as I’m a snob that fishes many offshore tournaments back at home. The staff was extremely prepared and on the ball and cut us up fresh fruit and snacks and kept attention on us the entire time! Shout out to Captain Carlos and Jose for making us feel at home and checking off a bucket list species!

We had an awesome day with our crew on the sea!  Got picked up on time and headed to the Marina.  We took the 41 ft. Silverton out for the day.  Had everything they said on board.  Water, beer, snacks and fruit.  Within the first hour we hooked 2 Mahi Mahi at the same time!  Kept trolling and a little while longer another 3 at almost the same time!  Crew was great to talk with!  Took a 4 hour excursion.  They fillet the fish back on the dock once back so we could cook it ourselves.  Website should state they charge you extra if you use PayPal.  Add another $20.  Also the WiFi is not great at the dock so maybe pay before you head out.  Would definitely use again!
