Juan and Alfredo were exceptional guides and put us on the fish rapidly.  Patient teachers and willing to do what it takes to have an amazing day.  They cleaned all the fish, bagged it and made it ready for us to take. We of course made sure they had plenty as well.  For inshore fishing, although we ran 30 miles or so, just an incredible day.

Our original captain did not show up so we waited on beach for an hour until Juan showed up and took us out So we missed best time of the day

Captain Jose and mate Rafael were great. We didn’t find the roosterfish we had hoped for (not their fault, bad time of year for them) and were smart and quick to change plans and take us to the fish. Spent the last half of the trip catching rainbow tuna and a beautiful dorado (on light tackle). Overall, great day thanks to captain and crew!  Thank you

In retrospect I would NOT recommend fishing in Costa Rica between May and September. The fishing is scarce and not worth the money but the captains will still expect a large tip despite a disappointing experience. This captain refused to say hello to me the next day when his tip matched the experience and not his expectation. Pura Vida! Absolutely not!

We really enjoyed our trip with captain Tito and Roy. They took care of us and worked hard to make sure we caught fish. Much better than our last experience in Mexico However when we were returning to the marina they put a sign up facing the front of the boat which read “the tip is 20% of the price of the trip”. This lead to an awkward situation because we had no more cash on us. We had given him all our money at the start of the trip which included a %12 tip - we just rounded up $720 to $800. And where we come from that would be considered a decent tip. We’re blue collar people and this fishing trip and coming to CR is our retirement dream trip which we have been saving for for years. So for the sake of us common folk please clearly detail what the minimum gratuity % is expected by the captain when we are shopping for and booking these trips through your app. That is the upfront and ethical way to operate a business. Nobody enjoys an embarrassing situation at the end of what was a wonderful experience.
