- Being a fishing charter captain is a unique and rewarding experience. You get to work closely with customers, teaching them about different types of fishing and helping them enjoy the outdoors. Florida is a great place to be a charter captain because there are so many opportunities to fish. There are also many different types of fish that can be caught in Florida waters. My personal favorite has to be trolling plugs for grouper. The hit that you get is incredible and the fight is just as good. I also enjoy live bait sight fishing a lot. I love watching the customers catch fish and experience that thrill of reeling in a big trophy fish. As a fishing charter captain, I am also responsible for providing my customers with all the necessary equipment, bait, and instruction they need to successfully navigate their fishing excursion. Whether you're an experienced angler or just starting out, there is something truly special about fishing in Florida.
