Captain José Serrão was born on Madeira Island in April, 1973. At the age of 15 he emigrated to South Africa with his family, living in Cape Town for 12 years and working for commercial fishing in the area. In the year 2000, he returned to Madeira Island and has since been working as a captain for Madeira Big Game Fishing Company aboard the vessel "Our Mary."
Techniques
The boat "Our Mary" comes fully equipped with fighting chair by GameFisher, Riggers, Rod's and Reels (by Shimano) and Lures. Tackle is provided with Shimano Tiagra fishing reels: " 130", "80" and "50". We do Skate Fishing for Stingrays and Tope with Shimano reels weighing 30 pounds. Light tackle also provided for Bottom Fishing

Today 13/07/18 we went out for a 7h shared trip with our guests and Mr David Watson (and wife Pam that usualy go every year with us) tagged and released a blue Marlin with 800 Lbs. Turned out Friday 13 was a good day after all! CONGRATULATIONS!

Today 21/04/18 we went out on a 4h shared trip in the morning, with 3 fisherman. The lucky one today was Mr Allan Henrivsel that caught a 75 Lbs Big eye tuna. Congratulations. See you on the sea.

On today's trip November 3rd, Mr. Magnus Homer caught a 50 pound Wahoo while trolling, and Mr. Martin Beckett reeled in a 40 pound Wahoo while trolling as well. We also had a very fun time during bottom fishing, where we managed to catch many snappers and other small fish. Thank you for sharing your day with us, we'll see you on the next trip.
