I have been fishing the coastal waters of NC both recreationally and commercially my entire life. I now run lite tackle inshore guided trips and am based out of the Topsail Area targeting redfish and speckled trout with artificial lures. Trips are also available on the Neuse River and Pamlico Sound. I also compete on the redfish tournament trails from here to Louisiana and have many wins and top finishes under my belt. Breadman Ventures Guide Service has also been featured in a multitude of publications both regional and nationally over the years. Articles ranging anywhere from targeting trophy speckled trout to flounder gigging.

    great times and big fish

    8 Hour Trip – Neuse River Fishing • 2 adults

    went out with the hopes of catching a bull drum, within 15-20 minutes the drag was screaming on the spinning reel, a few minutes of fighting and landed a 44.5" bull red ! about an hour later my buddy hooked up and he landed a 38.5" bull red ! rest of the day was a grind but any time you can go out and not get skunked, thats a win. captain was a hoot, kept us entertained and informed as to what we were seeing. boat and gear was top notch. great experience!

    1st Trip

    8 Hour Trip – Neuse River Fishing • 3 adults

    It was a beautiful day. The captain was easy to talk to and he did everything he could to get us on fish. The fish didnt corporate. Our son had a flounder and a nice blue, they both released themselves. I caught a nice red over slot. My husband had one much bigger than mine and he fought him for awhile before it got away. Over all it was a good day just wish the fish were biting but we have no control over that. We would book Captain Allen again.

    Best Guide Hands Down

    Half Day Trip • 4 adults

    It’s hard to say what the best part was… maybe the fish we caught maybe the jokes Allen told maybe it was the weather or maybe it was how Allen showed up for church the next day to listen to me and my buddy play for the first time on Easter Sunday! I will definitely be coming back time and time again to bring my family and friends and catch more fish Seriously this guy knows what he’s doing and can get the fish to bite even on the slow days. Did I mention he has a nice sound system on the boat?

    Afternoon half day trip • 4 adults • 1 child

    The fishing started slow, but the Captain refused to give up until he got us on some fish. I'm happy just being on the water with a line in, but my kids want to catch fish and he made sure they did that.

Extreme hot weather and Extreme hot fish

Its been a busy week and we have seen the hottest temps of the year so far. The fish didn't mid at all. We had several days this week of 20+ redfish and black drum landed. We are sightfishing large schools of redfish with topwater plugs and spoons. For the black drum fresh NC shrimp is the ticket.

The skinny water is on fire!

We've had 7 or 8" of much needed rain the past few days but headed into the weather it was just as good as it gets. We had a prefrontal bite and really whacked the redfish on topwater plugs and gold spoons. My clients got to witness their first redfish tailing and floating.

Summertime bite is in full swing

May 2, 2025 • North Topsail Beach
May is here and the fish have moved into their normal summertime patterns. The redfish are roaming in large schools and we are catching them on topwater plugs, soft plastics and spoons. It's only going to continue to get better.
