Fishing and guiding have been a family tradition for generations. Laura's father was one of the first professional bass guides on Lake Anna, Virginia, and helped found the Potomac River Bass Club. Laura grew up fishing for largemouth bass and chasing marlin and mahi offshore. Rex was raised in a family of guides and outfitters, helping with waterfowl operations in Manitoba, Saskatchewan, North Dakota, and Maryland. He was fishing before he could barely hold a rod and has spent a lifetime pursuing both inshore and offshore species. Since moving to Chesapeake Beach in 2013, the Chesapeake Bay has become his passion. At Rock On Charter Fishing, we specialize in light tackle and fly fishing for the Bay's incredible variety of species. Whether you're chasing trophy Striped Bass, Bull Redfish, Cobia, Bluefish, and Speckled Trout, or enjoying a fun family trip targeting Spot, Croaker, and Perch, we tailor every trip to your goals and experience level. We love introducing first-time anglers to fishing just as much as helping experienced anglers land the fish of a lifetime. Using state-of-the-art boats, premium Daiwa and Orvis tackle, and the latest electronics, our experienced team works hard to provide a safe, professional, and memorable day on the Chesapeake Bay.

    Cobia, Bull Redfish, Giant Blues • 5 adults • 3 children

    We had a blast with our 3 boys! We went on an early morning trip with the Captain and it didn’t disappoint. We caught a ton of bait fish and ultimately an enormous beautiful red drum which we put back so she could keep breeding. Our captain put us on the fish and was also super fun and personable. He even let my 11 year old drive the boat. Will def book again

    Great Birthday Outing!

    Solo Fly-Fishing Trip • 1 adult

    My first solo fishing trip was everything I had hoped for. Jack was very personable and knowledgeable. After the trip, I was much more comfortable with the equipment and casting. The boat was very clean and wel kept! I think I have found y favorite guide. Looking forward to my next trip!

    Great Day on the Water

    Half day Trip • 2 adults

    My daughter and I went out for Early Father's Day trip. She had never caught a Rockfish, but caught a keeper on the first cast. We both caught our limit and multiple that were too big to keep and we released. Also, caught Croaker & Perch to keep. Andrew was a great Captain and we had a very fun trip. I'm sure we'll be seeing him again.

    Captain Scott and Rex were incredible. I brought my family (with minimal experience) and they were extremely engaging and showed/taught us everything we needed to know. If you're looking for a fun fishing experience, this is the crew for you!

John booked a teipnwith us to take his mother,dad and brother. The comment theu sais in the reservation was new limited experience ans just want to catch some fish.
