- My name is Dilan Mileta, and I was born in 1996 in Rijeka, Croatia. I discovered my love for fishing as a child, thanks to my father, Ivan, who shared his passion for the sea and fishing with me. After several years of recreational fishing, I began competing in 2008 and have since achieved numerous accomplishments. In 2009, I joined the Croatian national fishing team, and between 2009 and 2017, I won 10 World Championship medals, including 3 individual medals, as well as 14 national medals. In 2017, I enrolled in a sports school in Rijeka and became a certified sport fishing coach. In 2020, I was selected as the coach of the Croatian U-21 national team in Bottom Fishing. Between 2020 and 2024, I had the honor of leading my team to win 4 medals, and there is more to come.
- Techniques
- All fishing techniques hold a special place in my heart, but there is one that delivers the ultimate adrenaline rush and the battle with the true giants of the Adriatic Sea – Big Game Fishing. It’s the pursuit of the largest, strongest, and fastest fish in the Adriatic, the Bluefin tuna. Aside from Big Game Fishing, my second favorite discipline is definitely Bottom Fishing, in which I can proudly say that I am among the best in the world. It is also one of the most enjoyable techniques, as it offers the chance to catch anything from the smallest fish to real giants. The catch is usually highly diverse and abundant.
