- Hello, my name is Captain Dustin McGill. I am a born and raised Mississippi native here on the Emerald Gulf Coast. I have been fishing the Gulf Coast my entire life and have been in the guiding business for the last 13 years. I started out with my mentor and teacher Captain Ron Harmon at the shipyard, working on our fleet boats, before I became a deckhand. I spent 5 years as a deckhand before proceeding on to Captains School. It has now been 8 years since I started guiding professionally. When I was younger, I used to go on charters all the time with my parents, watching the deckhand, wanting to do what they did. Little did I know that one day I would!
