Goliath Grouper tops off great trip

July 21, 2017

Went fishing on Friday, November 13, 2015

No cooler on boat and was not told there wouldn’t be. Food and drinks were warm all day.
Fished docks all day with shrimp. Not my idea of guide fishing.
Felt we should have tried other options other then docks. Did not catch much of anything in 6-hours.

Unfortunately poor water conditions resulting from a small bloom of Red Tide and a cold front that came in early that morning did slow down the fishing. Because of the low visibility, and poor water conditions fish have primarily been locked tight to structure such as docks recently and fishing the grass flats, sight casting along the mangroves would be difficult under the conditions. Also winds from the cold front created conditions along the beach that would have been unsafe to fish and sight fish for Snook along the inlet.
As any guide will tell you it is our job to keep anglers first and foremost safe but also to put them in the best possible situation to increase their chances of catching fish under the conditions at hand. The pattern and area we fished this day has been very successful recently under similar conditions but didn’t pan out on this occassion.
We are sorry to hear that these clients had a less than perfect time but we stand by our record of putting people on quality fish consistently.
