- Background
- Hi, I'm Captain Gregg, a professional charter captain with over 30 years of fishing experience. Born and raised in Sarasota, Florida, I know these waters inside and out and take pride in sharing them with my guests. I'm a USCG 100-Ton Licensed Master Captain dedicated to providing a safe, enjoyable, and memorable day on the water—whether you're an experienced angler or it's your first time fishing. You'll have the opportunity to fish productive reefs and local hotspots that hold a variety of species including grouper, snapper, flounder, redfish, king mackerel, shark, and more. Along the way, you may also encounter dolphins, seabirds, and other wildlife that make this area so special. Customer service is at the heart of what I do. My goal is simple: make sure you have a fun, relaxed, and successful trip from start to finish. Come spend a day on the water with me and create fishing memories—and stories—you'll be talking about for years to come. Before becoming a charter captain, I played Big Ten College Football under legendary coach Bo Schembechler at the University of Michigan, bringing that same discipline, preparation, and commitment to every trip I run today.
- Techniques
- Before every trip, I take the time to ask my clients what type of fishing they'd like to do so I can tailor the experience to fit their goals—whether that's action, relaxation, or targeting specific species. My approach is simple: read the water and put you in the best possible position to catch fish. With over 30 years of experience, I rely on proven techniques and a deep understanding of local conditions like water temperature, tides, time of day, and current flow. When trolling, I use a combination of planers and diving plugs to cover different depths, along with skirted ballyhoo for targeting larger game fish. For bottom fishing, I adjust my setup based on wind and current to keep lines in the strike zone and maximize your chances of success. No matter the conditions, my goal is always the same—to give you the best opportunity to catch fish and have a great time doing it.
