So…you wanna fish? Well, don’t pass this up! We can’t recommend Ron Doebler Fly Fishing Adventures enough. It was more than just a fishing trip; it was a total Kenai River experience. Capt. Ron is a phenomenal guide—funny, approachable, and incredibly patient with our group’s endless questions. He built such a great rapport with us and as brand new river fishers, made learning different river fishing techniques so enjoyable. Highlight #1: We all caught fish our first time out on the water! We even got to get out of the boat and do more finesse-typed fly fishing and casting on the banks of the river.

Highlight #2: We also appreciated the full-service setup. He was very responsive, modifying our trip activity to accommodate our schedule and specific needs. Everything was provided, from comfortable hip waders to quality rods and reels. Most importantly, thank you, Ron, for being so accommodating with my mobility limitations following my knee surgery; it made the entire day stress-free.

Highlight 3#: The impromptu wildlife viewing. Ron expertly incorporated breathtaking moments into our trip- watching an eagle’s nest with little eaglets, the parent eagle swooping down to try and grab a fish we’d just hooked. We then watched her catch her own giant fish to feed her eaglets—just WOW and Capt. Ron was there to explain the whole wildlife experience as it unfolded.

It was a 10/10 trip, and we can’t wait to come back and fish with you again to get the big buggers that got away today! Mahalo nui!

Ron is the best!!!!  I booked this trip for my boys to experience Alaska fishing!  Ron is an amazing guide and teacher!  I had no expectations!  However, my boys all caught fish and Ron taught them the tricks of fly fishing!  We drifted down the Kenai River and ultimately caught two trophy size (22-inch and 20-inch) Rainbow trout along with all the other fish!  It was an experience we will all remember for a lifetime!  If you are looking for a true Alaska fishing excursion, call Ron!  He is the best!

Best fishing trip ever! We caught four rainbow trout and one huge sockeye salmon. Dylan was an awesome guide—every spot he took us to had plenty of fish, and his explanations about the river, the fish, and the local area were really interesting.

Drifting down the Kenai River was incredibly relaxing and beautiful. This is definitely an experience you have to try. Highly recommend Dylan and this tour!

The captain was friendly and patient with whole family . We caught nine fish, three of which were very large. It was incredible and exceeded our expectations. It was a very special day, and we will always remember that surprising and happy moment. wish we will do it again one day .

Dillon has an engaging personality, shared his knowledge of the Kenai River of fish and ecosystem, patient, and persistent to get me on fish.  Caught rainbows and Dolly Varden.  Hooked and landed several fish and lost several.  I used both a fly rod and spinning rod.
The river and mountains are stunning.
