Full Day Upper Driftboat • 2 adultsWe came later in the season (Mid September) and we caught fish stright away. Dylan came prepared with 2 types of reels specifically set up for different types of fish and what they are biting on currently. Spent a full day floating down the Kenai river catching fish both from the boat and off the shore. Rainbw Trout, Sockeye Salmon and Dollies were mainly what we had the privilege of catching. Dylan was knowledgeable, kind and outgoing. He was patient with one of our party that didn't have much fishing experience, so if you’re unfamiliar or uneasy, he is your guy. He pointed out landmarks, taught us about the rivers in Alaska and even knew all the spawning areas for each type of Salmon on the river. He is a native Alaskan and you can tell he loves his job. 100 million percent - recommend these captains and this company.

1/2 Day Upper Driftboat A.M. • 2 adultsWe booked a half day since we hadn’t fished for years. Ron and Dylan met us at the designated boat launch to confirm paperwork was in order. After that we had Dylan as our guide during our drift experience. Dylan made sure we were refreshed in our technique for a successful catch. He was helpful and patient as he guided us to a better catch. My husband I both caught many Rainbow and Dolly Varden trout as well as Sockeye salmon. Dylan and Ron were friendly, personable, funny, professional and really enjoyed fishing and helping others have the best fishing experience possible. I would absolutely recommend them and would do this again if we had an opportunity to visit Alaska again.

Half Day Trip – Sockeye • 3 adultsSo...you wanna fish? Well, don't pass this up! We can't recommend Ron Doebler Fly Fishing Adventures enough. It was more than just a fishing trip; it was a total Kenai River experience. Capt. Ron is a phenomenal guide—funny, approachable, and incredibly patient with our group’s endless questions. He built such a great rapport with us and as brand new river fishers, made learning different river fishing techniques so enjoyable. Highlight #1: We all caught fish our first time out on the water! We even got to get out of the boat and do more finesse-typed fly fishing and casting on the banks of the river. Highlight #2: We also appreciated the full-service setup. He was very responsive, modifying our trip activity to accommodate our schedule and specific needs. Everything was provided, from comfortable hip waders to quality rods and reels. Most importantly, thank you, Ron, for being so accommodating with my mobility limitations following my knee surgery; it made the entire day stress-free. Highlight 3#: The impromptu wildlife viewing. Ron expertly incorporated breathtaking moments into our trip- watching an eagle's nest with little eaglets, the parent eagle swooping down to try and grab a fish we’d just hooked. We then watched her catch her own giant fish to feed her eaglets—just WOW and Capt. Ron was there to explain the whole wildlife experience as it unfolded. It was a 10/10 trip, and we can’t wait to come back and fish with you again to get the big buggers that got away today! Mahalo nui!

1/2 Day Upper Trout/Sockeye II A.M. • 2 adultsDylan was our fishing guide and he was wonderful. He knew so much about the river. We caught and saw eagles. It was a fun time. He even gave us information about other places nearby to go. We are definitely glad we took this trip and would recommend it to others. Just a note - it was chilly that day and I suggest taking an extra pair of socks to put on with the waders.

1/2 Day Upper Driftboat P.M. • 2 adultsDylan, our guide, did an excellent job. He was very knowledgeable and enthusiastic. We caught rainbow trout (8lbs) and dolly varden. Even a late season silver salmon! Dylan knows fishing, and the river. Only wish we'd had more daylight. It was the end of the season, but Dylan made it feel like it was the first fishing trip of the season!! We'll be back.

This is the last month for Dolly Varden. Last chance to catch Salmon, as they start to die off after breeding. The rivers become less crowded, but it becomes harder to get a bite overall.

With the coming of Fall on the Kenai the big Bows and Dollies come out to play! Sockeye are spawning heavily now and the bead bite has turned on. Lot's of rainbow and dollie action as we start to wind down our season at the end of the month. An occasional Coho finds its way into the net as well so book today!

Anchor River is starting to heat up- Fir

Some beautiful days on the water. This trip is a beautiful walk and wade targeting dollies, pink salmon and coho salmon. We caught one of the first of the season with more coming into this tidal affected river daily. More pinks are expected soon which are great fun for the kids and the whole family.

With the lack of salmon from our first run sockeye on the Russian these trout and dollie are hangry to say the least. Fun fishing for big trout on dry flies is the name of the game here. With sunny and warm days recently the caddis and mayfly as well as midge hatches are on all over the river. If you live dry fly and wade fishing the Russian is the place to be right now.

Anchor River is Hot right now for Dollie

The pinks and Coho are just beginning to shop up on the Anchor and the dollies are staging up to feast on eggs soon. Fishing dries, beads, wooly buggers and fry patterns have all been productive. Weather has been beautiful and the water is not blown out so perfect for dolly fishing.

Salmon fishing is picking up

Having some great salmon and trout days. With the salmon fishing picking the trout are also following them into to river system. Lot's of both species landed in the last week. It should be exceptional as more salmon move up towards Cooper Landing in the next week or so.
