Rainbow Trout (Steelhead), Coho Salmon, Sockeye Salmon, Pink Salmon, and more could be biting if you cast your line at the right time of year.
You'll target your catch by spinning, drifting, or maybe something more specialized in this area. Capt. Ron also offers fly fishing, but you may need to bring your own fly gear.
Capt. Ron welcomes children aboard, so the whole family can come and unplug for the day! Be sure to ask if child-sized life vests are available, otherwise you should bring your own. You're welcome to bring snacks so that everyone stays happy and energized!
You'll be casting lines from a 16' Drift boat that can carry up to 3 passengers. It has everything you need for a productive day on the water.
Capt. Ron will provide rods and reels for you, along with lures.
Before coming aboard, it may be necessary to buy a local fishing license for everyone in your group. This information is usually available online, or you can ask the captain. Some species may be off limits or require a special tag, so make sure you know what to expect.
Some essentials to bring are sunblock (non-spray), a hat, bottled water, and sunglasses. There will be some drinks on offer, but let the captain know if you wish to bring your own. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, so long as you avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles. There will be some light snacks provided on board.

Best fishing trip ever! We caught four rainbow trout and one huge sockeye salmon. Dylan was an awesome guide—every spot he took us to had plenty of fish, and his explanations about the river, the fish, and the local area were really interesting. Drifting down the Kenai River was incredibly relaxing and beautiful. This is definitely an experience you have to try. Highly recommend Dylan and this tour!
Dillon has an engaging personality, shared his knowledge of the Kenai River of fish and ecosystem, patient, and persistent to get me on fish. Caught rainbows and Dolly Varden. Hooked and landed several fish and lost several. I used both a fly rod and spinning rod. The river and mountains are stunning.
Fabulous 35th Reunion for two Desert Storm Veterans and friends. Ron was a very professional, courteous, knowledgeable, and fun guide. He knows the Kenai and where the fish are. Caught rainbow and DV and watched the bald eagle swoop in and try to take our fish before it fell off! Thanks Ron for a great day on the water. Fair winds and following seas.
Wife and I were spending our 20th wedding anniversary in Alaska. First time fishing in Alaska and have never fished trout. Dylan was passionate, knowledgeable, a great conversationalist, and helped us catch our first ever rainbow trout! Booking was easy, just be prepared for Alaska weather.
We drifted for several miles and didn’t see a fish. Apparently all the Rainbows headed down river to meet the Sockeye arrival. We caught several Sockeye once we climbed out of the boat. I would highly recommend this charter.
