- The owner and the operator of the Rugged Point Lodge, Matt Guiguet started guiding in his teens, first for Steelhead around Vancouver Islands rivers, in places like Gold River. He then worked on the dock at a lodge for a few years before becoming a saltwater guide. Matt fished all around the coast including Hakai pass, Haida Gwaii, Tofino, Ucluelet, Port Alberni, and ended up in Kyuquot. The best place of them all.
