Capt BC has made her return home and will be captained by Buddy Callaway. Captain Buddy is no stranger to the ocean. From sportfishing with his grandad, Captain Buddy Cannady, to commercial fishing with his dad 'Bilbo' Callaway, Buddy has spent the majority of his life on the deck or at the helm. He holds a 100-ton U.S Coast Guard Master's License and is CPR certified. Whether you're looking to fill the box with meat or put up a fight against a trophy fish, Capt BC will get you there!

    Such an awesome experience!

    Full Day – Offshore • 5 adults

    Captain Buddy and his first mate, Wes, provided an outstanding experience, and their cabin was impeccably clean and comfortable for our group of five. They were both so friendly and professional, even taking the time to manage our expectations by letting us know the previous day's fishing had been slow. Despite that, we had an incredible day on the water and hauled in a fantastic mix of tuna, wahoo, tilefish, black sea bass, and Bonita. We ended up with 110lbs of fish after cleaning, which the fish cleaning crew confirmed was the most caught by any boat that day! We had such an exciting time that we are already planning our next trip back to the OBX just to get back out on the water with Buddy and Wes.

    Full Day – Offshore • 3 adults • 1 child

    Capt was very communicative, knowledgeable, and communicated with others on the water constantly to give us the best shot at catching fish (which we did). Landed on a patch of dolphin that we couldnt reel them in fast enough! I took my dad and 5 year old son, cabin was comfortable when needed and my son got to catch his first deep sea fish. Would recommend!

    Full Day – Offshore • 5 adults

    Great time with Captain BC and First Mate W. We booked this trip for a bachelor party, and they exceeded every expectation. Even on a tougher day when the fish weren’t biting as much (which is all part of the sport) they worked nonstop to put us in the best spots possible and did everything they could to make it a great experience. Their effort, attitude, and the overall environment made the trip unforgettable. Would highly recommend and absolutely book with Captain BC again!

    Epic Day of Gamefishing

    Full Day – Offshore • 6 adults

    This was our second trip with Capt BC. This trip we brought a sailfish and white marlin to the boat and over 40 mahi in the fishbox. Captain BC is dedicated to a great experience and his mate was on top of it all day. The boat and equipment are all top notch. Thanks for another great trip. We will definately book with them on the next trip.

    Captain buddy was straight forward with the weather and conditions. We had two children with us, and he and Wes were great with them. We caught a lot of fish. Will definitely be booking again.

What's biting with Capt BC Sportfishing in Nags Head

The weather's cooling, but inshore fishing is rock solid. Red and Black Drum, Trout, and Spanish Mackerel can all be caught on a half day trip. Otherwise, stay out all day to battle Billfish offshore.

Yellowfin and Blackfin

The weather has had us tied to the dock for the last could have days but we were able to get back out there today! We had John and his family with us and had a great time filling the box with Yellowfin and Blackfin Tuna! We have the 6th, 7th, 10th, 11th, 12th and 13th open.

We had Dale and his wife out with us today and we were able to bring back a nice catch of Mahi Mahi, a Yellowfin Tuna and a couple Blackfin Tuna! We have July 5th, 6th and 7th available.

Tunaaaaa

Unfortunately, today’s charter had to reschedule due to a family emergency. Wishing them all the best — this family has been fishing on the Capt BC since the early ’70s, and we’re looking forward to chasing marlin and mahi with them this fall. Let’s catch up from this weekend. We had the pleasure of fishing with the L.F. Jennings crew this past Saturday, and these guys brought the good luck with them! We put together a solid catch of Yellowfin Tuna. Can’t wait to have them back next year! We still have June 22nd, 29th, and 30th open.

Tuna Time

We had our good friend David Hefner from Crawl Masters out of Pungo on board. We slipped up to the Northeast and with hardly any boats around, we pieced together a solid catch of Yellowfin Tuna! We’ve still got June 25th, 29th, and 30th open.

Box Full

It took us a little longer today, but we were able to fill the box for Chris and his guys! A great catch of Yellowfin Tuna, plenty of meat for dinner and the freezer. It doesn’t get any better than this! We have June 22nd, 25th, 26th, 27th, 29th and 30th open.

Heading home by breakfast!

We gave Frank and his crew the option of a refund today due to unfavorable weather conditions, they said they wanted to give it a try! Lucky for us, the Tuna were hungry! The box was full and we were heading home by 9am!
