Dean is a very knowledgeable and active fishing guide. We had booked for the afternoon but he contacted us and asked if we would consider the morning as the wind and tide conditions were better then. During our four hours on the boat we were busy almost all the time. As soon as there was no bite, Dean was active and checked the hook, adjusted the depth etc. Caught several different kinds of salmon, Lingcod and Rockfish. We released rockfish and the fish that were too small, Dean was professional and handled the fish that were released gently and quickly got them back in the water. We caught so many fish that we were more than happy! We are extremely happy guests and if we come back we will choose the same guide again!

Dean made my family’s first ocean fishing experience a great one.  I’d taken my 10 year old Son salmon fishing before but it was the first time my wife and daughter had been out. We were in the inlet for 2.5 hours and caught 4 Coho!  Each of us was able to get a fish in the boat.  We ate one for dinner the same night and my son said it was the best tasting fish he’d ever had.  Dean is a younger easy going captain with a well equipped and maintained Grady White and he knows where the fish are. When we go out again in Ucluelet we are definitely booking with him.

We had an absolutely brilliant day out on the water with Captain Dean from Peninsula Charters!! Dean is an awesome captain, he is extremely knowledgeable, and he knows the area exceptionally well. We were very lucky with great weather, and Dean was able to extend our tour for an extra couple hours, which was well worth it! This was one of the best Charters we have done, we loved it and will definitely organise to go out with Dean again when we are back in Ucluelet! We highly recommend Peninsula Charters, whether you are an experienced fisherman, a first-timer, or are taking your kids for a fishing experience, Dean is quick to cater for your group, is a hospitable captain, and is great company. We were able to tick some fish off our bucket list, with some beautiful Chinook salmon straight up, a black cod, and a good sized Halibut - very happy!!

Booked a 4h trip with Dean in the hopes of catching my first salmon (being from Germany, where salmon is not that common, this was really top of my list) and got two beautiful Chinooks, one of which a true monster of around 20lbs. In addition to trolling we did some jigging - Dean really knows his fishing spots, so the fish just kept coming. Thanks a lot Dean, had an amazing time!
