Had a great time with Capt. Jim on “Reel Therapy”. Tried for a day of trolling but seas were a little rough. Put out a small spread and trolled for a little while but didn’t get any strikes. Capt. Jim made a recommendation, based on his years of experience knowledge, to try fishing a few reefs. Glad we listened to him, caught enough fish to share with friends and family.

Captain Jim was great!  He is very experienced and was extremely confident with his abilities in the Gulf and Atlantic.  He kept us updated on the weather a week in advance and stayed in touch up until the day we met.  We told him what our mission was and he delivered.  We had caught our limit within 4 hrs and he only charged us for 1/2 day.  It was a spectacular day and we would high recommend this fishing excursion with Capt. Jim!

Captain Jim took me and another dad out with 4 boys (12-14 yrs old) for an amazing day on the water.  We caught tons of fish to bring home to eat as well as several sharks and even goliath grouper.  Captain Jim knows these waters well and will put you on whatever fish you want to catch.  He was very patient with the boys and even took the time to explain what he was doing and how to catch the fish better.  We had a great time.  Highly recommend.

I booked this as a surprise for my husband while we were vacationing in Marathon, Fl.
Capt Jim contacted me a few days in advance to go over the itinerary. He looked ahead in the forecast and the day we booked was supposed to be really windy resulting in 4-6 ft waves.  Instead of cancelling the trip, he suggested fishing in the Gulf. My husband and I were agreeable as we wanted the experience. I have very very little fishing experience and my husband has some with a trip or two each summer on the lake. Capt Jim and his first mate, Jeana (spelling) were so accommodating and helpful. Their patience with my lack of skills definitely stood out. I was given tips and shown techniques on how to properly reel in a fish. As the trip was winding down, he set it up so that we had the opportunity to catch a shark. Once the shark took the bait, Capt Jim had my husband take over. About 20 minutes or so and a few times around the boat, the shark was reeled in. It was around 5’ long. The smile on my husband’s face was priceless! We highly recommend this fishing experience for novice and experienced fishermen (and women). Included at the end was cleaning and filleting the fish to take with us. Take note that on a windy day, bring an extra layer or 2 as you may need it.

Trip was very enjoyable.  Captain Jim gave us several fishing options to choose from to give us the experience we wanted.  Our first stop didn’t produce but Jim quickly adapted and put us on the fish with non stop action.  We took enough fish home for several meals.  The conversation we had with Captain Jim was also fun. Our group would recommend Jim and would use him again on a future visit to the Keys.
