Background
My life of fishing began as a child, fishing tournaments with my father from North Carolina to Connecticut, and ongoing recreationally/commercially out of Cape May and Ocean City. My early introduction to sportfishing jump-started my journey to fishing professionally. My love for this game only grows with every day spent on the water, with my greatest happiness coming from bending the rod and putting fish on the deck. I take great pleasure in sharing these experiences with others and educating others on this beautiful sport. From the bay to the canyons, I pride myself on being a jack of all trades, able to put people on a variety of fish consistently, inshore and offshore. I love meeting new anglers, beginners, and experts, and I look forward to having you aboard the Mod Squad. Tight lines and good times await!
Techniques
Flounder: Bucktailing, Live Bait. Sea Bass: Wreck fishing, and winter offshore jumbo seabass trips. Tog/Blackfish: Capt. Syd's custom tog rigs: effective and snag proof. Crabs for bait. Striped Bass: Topwater casting, jigging, and trolling. In that order. Mahi: Trolling, and pot hopping (these are some of my favorite trips). Tunas: Trolling, chunking, and topwater if possible. Swordfish: Daytime deep drop (electric reel). Tilefish: Lots of hooks, lots of line, and lots of ice (for the fish and your arms because cranking them up from 600ft can take a toll).
