What would you recommend to anglers fishing in Mount Desert, Maine for the first time?

yes. we had a great time. very knowledgeable about the area and we caught lots of fish. Luke was great and he was great with our wives. Best captain i’ve had in awhile. Will definitely use him again

If you have not been on a boat in a while, dress in layers, it can get chilly on the water, and take motion sickness meds before you hit the water if you are prone to sea sickness. Then have a great time!

Only fish of substantial size that were biting was cod, which was out of season. I was planning catch and release anyway, but I would’ve been disappointed if I was planning a meal. Fishing was a little slower than ideal, and for that I blame the fish!

Be prepared for the real deal of sea fishing in May!!! Captain Luke is a real lifelong fisherman & will prepare you for the trip. He was very quick to answer questions, in the days-weeks before the journey.

Cod season is short in the spring and fall. The customizeable trip is probably the best so you can get a variety.
