What would you recommend to anglers fishing in Guntersville, Alabama for the first time?

September is a transitional month for the black bass so it makes the fishing tough, we actually caught a lot more then I expected when I booked the trip! Myles was excellent and his knowledge of the lake paid off.

The white bass seem to be available all the time, but can be finicky of when they decide to hit. But definitely catch your limit of them of you can. The largemouth bass only hit once during our whole time out. Captain Myles recommended for better bass fishing to come in spring or fall and they'd be hitting.

The captain was helpful with equipment and had plenty of lures / rods He was very knowledgeable of the fishing spots on the lake Patient with first timers and children

Absolutely fish with John Maner. Weather may not be right but he will work really hard to find you fish. Very knowledgeable about fishing and about Guntersville

I fished for the first time in Guntersville and had a great morning. Don't expect to catch 10’s of fish. Enjoy the scenery and angling. Ask questions!

Listen to your captain and use what bait he recommends. I recommend lipless crank bait. Have fun
